Stylish outfit needed for this body shape- Help!!

Hi, after 3 pregnancies in short succession my body is so changed and I just don't know how to dress! I an 5ft 1", and have put on a lot of weight and currently size 16. I have a huge bust (FF cup) and sadly a c section overhang. I don't like my upper arms, and feel conscious drawing attention to my bust. I do have a nipped in waist (hourglass shape), but when I try to emphasise this it seems to draw attention to the tummy overhang. The only part of my body I'm happy with is my face! My face is quite slim compared to the rest of me! I have olive skin and dark hair, dark eyes. I have a couple of weddings early summer, and I would really like something flattering I can feel confident in. I'm not keen on wrap dresses/tops, or anything with ditsy floral prints. I was maybe thinking of a simple dark outfit I could dress up with accessories. I would be so grateful for suggestions

I'm your shape and size and the Apricot dress that @GettingStuffed posted is the most flattering shape on me.

I absolutely ADORE jumpsuits but being short and wide is just..... no. Gutting, I know.

Similar idea to the jumpsuit you linked, @Richtea67 - the nice thing about this dress is that it could be shortened to fit. Only needs a better belt, perhaps.

It’s not clear if the Next item was indicative of your budget limit? If so you could look for Marina Rinaldi things pre-owned.

This would be glorious for weddings. Don’t think it’s too ‘ditsy’ - more chic:

Again, length could be altered easily if necessary.

When DD was trying her dresses on in Apricot a woman who sounds a bit like you came out with this dress on and it looked amazing on her, being short the dress was below the knee

Oooo I like this...sadly out of stock but I will look for similar shaped dresses thank you.

I like this one thank you...not sure about the purple one for some reason. Budget would be £150 top, but ideally between £50-£100 mark. But I will have a look on vinted.

@Richtea67 my honest opinion is outfits like that - and it's lovely- look a bit rubbish if you are under 5ft 6

I'm 5ft 4 and have similar issues- I know you don't like them but I do findxwrap style dresses look good on me - I have a couple of plain ones too

Crikeyalmighty · 18/05/2024 14:19

I have this and it looks nice - as I said I'm similar shape- I also have that apricot dress someone posted earlier

It's a gorgeous dress but on someone 5ft 1 it would be down to her ankles - and you couldn't turn it up because of the fluted hem line.

Crikeyalmighty · 18/05/2024 19:20

@TinDogTavern ha- you are so right- had totally forgotten the 5ft 1, it's fairly long on me at 5ft 4 !!

I'm similar (ish) shape and I find Jolie Moi very flattering and nice for occasions.

Their midi usually comes up as a maxi dress length on me, or I often pay my local dry cleaners to shorten the dress.

This one is nice
