Smokey eye help…

Hello

I am off to a black tie event in a few weeks. Don’t have time to get makeup done so will need to attempt myself …. I’m amateur at best.

looking for a recommendation for an eye palette for a Smokey eye for blue eyes and blonde hair.

I am wearing a black dress and heels with silver jewellery and bag. Am aiming for red lip and nails.

If you're going with red lips go a little easy on the eye make up.

I'd do the smokey effect with soft browns/greys rather than dark to black. Don't go much darker than you colour you eye brows, is a rough rule of thumb.

There are quite a lot of tutorials on youtube which give good tips. I always use a decent eye shadow primer if i'm going to want colour to stay where i put it and not crease.

I agree, if you’re going for red lips, tone your eyes down otherwise you’ll risk looking like a drag queen.

I agree, a red lip needs more subtle eye make-up.
I'd go with taupe on your crease and a silvery colour on your lid with a little dark grey at the outer corner for definition, a think line of liquid eyeliner close to your upper lashes and smudge some of the grey under your lower lashes with a q tip. Then mascara or natural looking strip lashes.

You can then highlight your cheekbones and under your brow.
