Thoughts on these trousers...

We have an early summer event at an outdoor garden pub venue; loads of people we haven't seen for a while. I'm assuming standing around with cocktails visiting.

I was thinking trousers with vest or waistcoat top, flat sandals. Probably navy to go with linked trousers. These are out of my usual classic/no pattern style. Not sure if they are classic with a twist, or just too busy.

Not my personal vibe, but current, not in any way hideous, and they'd look good with a vest top and sandals.

I think they seem too narrow to be fashionably wide, but also too wide to be dressy enough for the fabric.

I think they'd look fine with a different top (not cropped and not matching), but as they're mostly polyester, I wouldn't buy them.

Quite like the shape but not the colour or pattern. It doesn't work for me.

But @TheOGCCL is spot on - there’s something about the proportions that is slightly off. Poor quality notwithstanding, it’s rare for me to dislike the design of anything from Zara, but somehow I’m not drawn to those.

It's funny, because I'm not usually drawn to any patterned trouser, and the fact that they are not too wide did attract me. I'm 5'4 so too wide of a trouser can make me look a bit stumpy, especially with flats.

I'm still on the fence with these. Looking for elevated casual outfit.

They do meet the brief! And would probably look better without the strangely vile matching jacket.
