plus size tops

Can anybody help with plus size clothing, tops especially. I've tried all the usual suspects like Yours, Curvissa, JD Williams, Simply Be but nothing is appealing.

I just want a nice top that covers my bum, preferably wrap style, am open to colours but has to have sleeves either long or short.

I'm losing the will to live trying to find something suitable

Might be worth looking at Seasalt - lots of longer length tops up to size 26-28.

PartTroll · 15/05/2024 16:12

Probably should have mentioned it's for the opening of a building so semi-dressy but not sequins/glitter dressy and it's relatively short notice (Sunday), so something that has express delivery.

Have looked on Seasalt and Izabel but there was nothing jumping out at me and I won't shop at Shein.

I'll check out TK Maxx, thanks

Roman may have something and I've see live unlimited London and curve wow mentioned/advertised.

Kaffe do my favourite tunic tops and have a plus size range. They're the most reliable brand I've found for bum coverage.

John Lewis stock a small selection or you can order from their website and get your order shipped from Denmark.

I like this one, was looking at it earlier but it's just a bit too short

How 'plus' is your plus size that you're looking for? I'm only asking because in some stores being plus size is a size 16 or larger and in others it could be in the 20's and beyond.

I quite like this blouse/shirt and if it was matched with a pair of comfortable trousers it could look very smart for the opening of the building:

This is a beautiful dress that might meet your requirements:

Edited to add the link to the dress

I'm at 18 in tops, I don't do tucked in as I'm short (5'3) and end up looking like a badly stuffed sausage, I also don't do belts for the same reason. Whatever I buy has to cover my bum at the back and the tops of my thighs at the front, I'm not comfortable in anything shorter. Definitely don't want a dress, I've got a lovely pair of black trousers and some high black wedges, and whatever I buy has to go with them

I can't find anywhere that does proper wrap tops anymore, the ones I've had in the past have one half that you tie at the side on the inside, and the other side wraps over and ties at the side on the outside. They are all belted right around the back these days and that just doesn't suit me.

I'm very hard to please Sad

How about some of these:
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
Option 4
Option 5 (this is a bit different)

I've no idea of your budget either so apologies for the wide variety of prices

Oo quite like the Quiz one in the black and the blue but not sure it'll be long enough - might order and see. Not keen on the others, too short and the other is a dress. Thanks for the suggestions though

There's some nice things on there, quite like the pleated tunics, I'm going to order both as I have a nice pair of cream trousers which might look nice with the navy one.

Thanks

Have you tried river island? I’m really loving their plus range at the moment, how about this one? https://www.riverisland.com/p/plus-blue-satin-floral-wrap-shirt-907356

That's nice but a bit short I think

If you've a plain black top would you consider a haori jacket. They're traditional Japanese jackets to be worn over a kimono. You can find lots on eBay. They're one size fits all as you don't do them up and they're incredibly flattering.

timoteigirl · 16/05/2024 12:31

Maybe @Frillseeking can advise?

Lisamari99 · 16/05/2024 12:59

have you tried m&s?

PragmaticDramatic · 16/05/2024 18:15

New Look
H&M

Do you sew? Could you buy a dress and shorten it or get it shortened to your perfect length?
