Please can I have recommendations for a NON greasy face cream with spf 50 that won't break the bank ,,
Early 30s but starting to notice the wrinkles
Use down my neck too
Been using one with spf 15 and just dawned on my it's probably doing nothing ! Tia

I use the bodyshop light essence 50spf day cream. It's slightly pricey £22 but you only need a bit and it lasts. I love it makes my skin so soft and look great! It's worth it.

If you are concerned about sun damage, wrinkles etc then you need to use a dedicated facial sunscreen and not solely rely on the SPF in a moisturiser. The amount of SPF in a day cream is no where near the recommended amount to prevent sun damage (and people use moisturisers sparingly as per the previous poster). Brands such as LRP, Eucerin, Heliocare are reasonably priced, non oily and are regularly on offer in places like Boots.

I'm fair-skinned and currently living in South Asia so I've tried a few!

My favourite for every day is
L'Oréal Revitalift Clinical Anti UV Fluid SPF50+
Only about £10 from Boots.
Eucerin also do a great oil free SPF50, but that's more expensive.
I wear Avene light SPF50 if I think I'm going to be standing around in the sun or when I'm at the pool.
I have very oily skin and the above don't cause blocked pores.
Using the above I've still tanned/freckled as the sun is so strong here but I've never burned. I wear a hat when outside for more than a short walk to e.g. the car or local shop.

There's a boots own brand one which is spf 50 very cheap.
Also cerave and la Roche posay are nice but a bit more ££.
Some of the Lidl and Aldi ones have spf 30- feel a bit thicker/ more greasy on me though.

The boots protect and perfect sunblock is pretty good and there's quite often a 2 for 1

Sali Hughes recently did her 'Best beauty buys under £20' in the Grauniad.
She mentions several, for different skin types

I use either Tesco or superdrug own brand. I find they aren't greasy but I have dry skin.

I have just recently started the boots one mentioned and I really like it. It sinks in and doesn’t leave any residue that I’ve had in the past from low cost moisturiser. And there are always good offers on the go.

Sparrowball · 15/05/2024 21:32

I'm currently using the Boots own brand with niacinamide and the Garnier spray you can apply over makeup as a top up during the day.

I have a Garnier Vit C one which I'll try next and I got a couple of Nivea non-greasy ones reduced in Tesco last autumn, I used them over winter and they dried in really quickly.

It's just a pity that they don't have samples so you have to rely on the blurb on the packaging.

I second the L'Oreal in the photo. Non-greasy, dot it over backs of hands, décolletage, face every morning then do my concealer after a few minutes. Non-greasy and I now order three at a time off Ebay Smile
