Menopause tummy cellulite- eeeek!

Hiya 😀 at the risk of being roasted for my vanity, I am admitting to an obsession with my post menopause tummy. I have exercised every day bad 10 since I was 17 (I'm now 56) and adored my tummy. It's not a gym bunny six pack but it was times & defined ..... and now it's not! I apply my oestrogen HRT cream to this area daily and wondering if that has contributed to the cellulite appearance? I've ordered a slendertone like electrical stimulation belt (have used one in the past, when I didn't need it)....hoping that helps. Has anyone else had this tummy issue post the big M and did anything make a difference?

Dry brush, as often as you can manage.

I feel your pain, @Secondwifenotsecondbest . I’m 50 this year and haven’t undergone menopause yet, but all of a sudden, fat is creeping onto my belly! I’m a healthy BMI and the rest of me is slim, but I’m getting a bulge in the middle!

I’m not sure what to do either. It doesn’t help that I have separated abs after having enormous DD so I’ve battled that for 20 years, but it was relatively flat until now. What the heck else are we supposed to do?!
I’ve recently cut out alcohol as that’s unnecessary calories, but there has to be something else that helps.

Women always put it on around the middle as the fat cells produce teeny amounts of estrogen. Your body will hold on to that for grim death.

We end up like a deflated balloon as we age anyway. I'm not sure what can be done other than surgery.

@gamerchick 🤣 If it’s a losing battle, I think I’ll invest in some control top undies. I’m certainly not willing to starve myself, I love food too much!

I hear you. I've just invested in ruddy maternity gym bottoms because nothing else is squat proof and roll down. Grin

Menopause does suck a bit in the belly department.

I hear you, I’m slim (size 8-10) but have a wobbly tummy despite yoga/Pilates/swimming/dog walking. But much as it annoys me I’ve decided fuck it! My body has been through so much, 3 C sections, breast cancer, and a hysterectomy . So actually I’m going to celebrate my current health and sod the wobbly tummy!! And I will wear a bikini on the beach too!

Thank you lovely ladies for taking the time to share- it does help to not be made to feel daft ( for admittedly a trivial thing ) and to know I’m not the only one with this issue 🥰

Sorry we don’t have much helpful advice though, we’re all wobbling along together. 🤣
