Swollen ankles - don't think there's an answer

I have borderline heart failure which means that my ankles are puffy pretty much all the time, though they get worse as the day goes on and especially in the heat. I've only had this issue for about a year and I'm worried about summer dressing. I usually wear cropped trousers and pumps with a t shirt or tunic, or summer dresses, but my ankles just look so awful. In the cooler months I wear long trousers which hide them but I'll be so hot in summer. Wide leg trousers make me look like the side of a bus. There's no answer is there? Swelter or display my puffy ankles to the world.

Fake tan can make everything look a bit slimmer and healthier. In the summer months I slather on the Dove gradual self tan moisturiser every few days so my Scottish/Irish pasty skin doesn’t glow blue in the sunlight. It doesn’t get really dark or obvious. It just ‘takes the edge off’ and makes everything look better.

My ankles swell up too. I've always had fat ankles even when young and slim.

DH's are slimmer 😀

I have a heart condition that affects my veins appearance and I tend to wear long skirts or long wide leg trousers if I don’t feel like explaining it to anyone that day.
