Personal shopping -make up

Hi
I'd really like a personal shopping session across loads of make up brands, mostly to find foundation but everything really.

I've seen JL offer this at certain stores and I am considering trying it at the Southampton store. Not super close but the nearest of the 5.

Has anyone tried it?

And has anyone heard of anywhere else doing it across brands?

It's not personal shopping, but I find Space NK staff to be very helpful and they will do mini makeovers using the brands they thinks will suit you best.

Seconding the idea of a trip to Space NK - I find their sales associates by far the most knowledge, helpful and least pushy. My worry with a ‘proper’ personal shopping session is that they’d try to sell you products which just aren’t particularly necessary and you’d waste money

Thanks both, interesting I hadn't considered Space NK, I just don't think of them doing make up rather than skincare but that's clearly not correct!

Annoyingly though the Oxford store closed in the last few years!

My experience with JL fashion personal shopping is that they are not at all pushy so I'm not too worried about that.

It's really for colour matching and how different make up works on my skin, but I don't want to have to visit each brand individually, so I'm happy I can stick to what I'm looking for and not get pushed to other things too much!

I took my mum when I got married as the woman who never wears makeup decided she wanted to (she wouldn't have listened to me). They listened to what she wanted and gave her some good advice and there wasn't any pressure to buy any of the products. If I recall correctly they do a more in-depth paid for session that is refundable against a purchase.

I think the JL one would be good...they seem to be able to call products from all the counters in the shop.
