Spray tan before holiday?

Hi
I'm going away to Greece next month and I'd like to be tanned when I go. I'm quite pale and just fancy a tan! I don't tan very well naturally.
Can you get a spray tan if going in the pool and sea? Is there any prep or aftercare?

They go patchy when using the pool and sweating a lot

I did this last year with a st tropez spray tan and it was brilliant. Didn’t go patchy in the pool at all. Will be doing it again this year. I just made sure skin was well prepped before the spray tan.

Whatever you choose, I'd recommend getting a 'test' one done this month so you can see how it looks and how long it takes for it to wear off etc. You don't want to be left a colour you're not a fan of right before your holiday.

Speaking from 18 year old me's experience here 😂 I just accepted my natural skin colour after that and never bothered with tans (spray or otherwise) ever again.

I always do this before every holiday. It always lasts well and fades nicely in the sun, doesn't go patchy at all as long as you prep the skin and use a good quality tan 😊

I always put on fake tan before a holiday. Also worth taking a gradual tanner with you to top up while you're there.

I absolutely wouldn't! Especially for a pool holiday.

I went away for 2 days to South Spain, it was a city and the hotel had no pool. It was so hot, in mid 30's. It was sight seeing holiday. I hadn't been away since the summer before and I was so pale so I opted for a spray tan at a salon. I've had it done many times and it generally looks great for up to a week. Got it done 2 days before I went and after one day in the heat it started going patchy, mainly around where my clothes were sitting or anywhere I was sweating. So all around my waist and stomach as I was wearing denim shorts. You couldn't see it too bad when I had clothes on but if I had to wear a bikini I'd have looked noticeably patchy. I just wouldn't take the chance for going on holiday.

Weird, mine disappears when I swim. I swim a lot though so maybe that's it ? I reapply it every day ( St. Tropez ).
