Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

Hi, I got duo of Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balms (regular and rose ones) and wonder if to keep or sell them. I never use foundation/concealers etc, only eye make up and powder blush so don't need "heavy duty" cleansers, Clarins/EL face washes or only water do the job just fine and I have a couple in my stash still.
Whilst I'd love to try these balms, I'm not sure if there is any point given how expensive they are.
Any advice? and if to keep one, then which one, rose or regular?

The rose one stings my eyes, much prefer the original.

I love these products! Excellent for using as a base for face massage too - rich, smell gorgeous and feel luxurious and pampering.

How do you actually use it? I got one in a calendar a year ago and still haven't opened it but clearly I should!

ObliviousCoalmine · 06/05/2024 14:09

I use the Clinique take the day off balm which is essentially the same thing; I don't wear foundation etc but I still need to properly get rid of the dirt from the day, sweat from the gym and (importantly) the spf, so I use that then a Cerave SA cleanser.

I briefly ran out of balm and really missed it.

I'm using the regular one at the moment, and it's good for my normal skin and a few bits of uneven texture on my forehead. It was a much appreciated gift, but I'm not sure I would have bought it for myself. I also like the M&S Pure equivalent, and don't notice an appreciable difference. The smell of the Elemis is fabulous though.

@nearlylovemyusername I thought it was pretty self evident.... (1) as a cleanser - scoop some out the glass jar, warm between your hands and rub softly into skin to lift the dirt and makeup off your skin. Rinse off. It wont foam, it is a balm so will go smoothly and rickly across your skin to lift away the dirt. (2) as an emollient for face massage - dab some on your finger and dot on forehead, cheekbones chin and neck - then start your facial massage. I usually follow an online video on youtube or similar.

I like the rose one the best.

You only need a small amount, warm it, smooth it onto your face and neck, then using damp hands massage, then either rinse off or use a face cloth.

I also use it as a mask occasionally - spread a thicker layer on your face and neck and leave it on for at least 10 minutes then remove.

If you look on the QVC website there will be videos about the product and how to use it.

Sell them on cheap.

MissBattleaxe · 06/05/2024 15:46

I rub it generously into my face before a shower, wash the rest of me, then rub the cleanser off with a hot damp flannel. I'm not into skincare but this makes my skin look and feel amazing.

Chaiilatte · 06/05/2024 16:21

Still good to use even if you don't wear make up OP. The balm cleanses your face and gets rid of all the nastiness from the day, dirt, pollution, sebum build up, dead skin, etc.
I really like it personally, not so keen on the rose one, perhaps keep one and sell one

PlumPeony · 06/05/2024 16:24

I dont like it, it contains essential oils which I'm not keen on (quite sensitive skin and can cause skin inflammation)
