Fake tan on face

For those of you who do this regularly, how does it work with your other skincare?

I’ve got a nice light tanning spray which looks great on my arms and chest but I’d like to add it to my face as well (it is for body and face).

however I use a retinol cream most nights and in the day I use moisturiser and make up. When is the best time to fake tan without it being eroded or streaked by the other creams? Also do you need to get darker foundation to match the tan? As you can tell I’m a complete tanning novice with the lightest skin ever so don’t want to look daft.

I use a drop thing you add to night cream - my preference is the Skinny Tan one. I alternate tret/tan in the evenings night about. I like the drops because you can use just a tiny bit (which I do as I just want a hint of colour) or more depending on what you like. I don’t use different makeup but if you were going for a deep face colour then I guess you would need to.

I use tretinoin at night and SPF and moisturizer during the day. I just did my fake tan last night. I used the 1 hour tanning mousse from bondi sands (you can leave on for longer for a deeper tan). I always apply some moisturiser to my hands, feet, knees, elbows and face before applying the tan. I did this between finishing work and before bed. I showered then did my usual nighttime skincare routine.

In terms of make-up I just use my normal shade and add a bit of bronzer.

Thanks both I think I’ll get some tanning drops to try, I like the fact you can control the depth of colour.
@Illpickthatup what spf do you use? That’s another issue I have! Any I’ve tried seem quite thick and creamy and not a good base for foundation to sit on!

I use the skin saints vitamin C SPF. Got it from Tesco for about for about £4.

I just use St Tropez cream and tell myself it’s a moisturiser 😃

I use clarins tanning face drops and add 2 drops to my serum in the palm of my hand, then apply to face, followed by moisturiser.
I also used a spray tan mist from St.Tropez for the face last year and really liked this.
