I am starting a new job soon as Headteacher in a special school. I want to look smart and professional, but the nature of the role means I can’t wear heels or strappy/open-toed shoes (I will periodically be supporting pupils in crisis and it would be dangerous). I wear Doc Marten brogues with trousers anyway so that will be fine, but I usually wear heels with skirts/dresses or sandals in summer, which won’t be suitable now. Any recommendations for smart flats for summer dresses which aren’t too flimsy but aren’t frumpy either?
