Skincare for hyperpigmentation while breastfeeding

So I know a retinol-based product would probably be recommended to improve my uneven skin tone, but I won’t go near it while breastfeeding.

Can anyone recommend some retinol-free products I can try instead? Or professional beauty treatments??

My skin is a mess and with a newborn I don’t have the time/energy to put on makeup to cover it up!

For reference: I’m late 30s, combination skin with lots of old acne scars - oh and fine lines :-/

Thank you…

Niacinamide! There are lots of serums out there, the ordinary has a cheap one which is ok,

Oh and vitamin c is great for brightening the skin and is bf friendly

I used a Vitamin C and Aplpha Arbutin serum, I think it was from The ordinary and it was brilliant, very effective.
