IPL, does it really work?

Saw someone local selling this treatment, I love the idea of doing on my face and arm pits, but does it really work?! It seems too good to be true!

Philips Lumea has worked on mine.

Interesting, did you try it on your face? Is it really permanent?

I had my upper lip done at a salon (only does laser). Six or eight sessions (can’t remember exactly) and now get it done two or three times a year.

i used to wax and then bleach in between. Laser twice a year is sooooo much easier!

@sheeplikessleep what colour is your hair? I've heard it doesn't work on light blonde (on my very quick google just now!) so wondering if it would work for me anyway.

Brown hair and mid tone skin.

There has to be a difference between hair colour and skin colour to be effective. Blond hair and pale skin wouldn’t be as easy to capture.

No chin hearts! No lip hair! No armpit hair!

You need ideally dark hair and pale skin

Does not work on red, grey or blonde hair or brown or black skin

Thanks, I'm very pale, under arm hair is dark, leg hair is mostly blond and moustache is mostly light but getting very slightly darker. Doesn't sound like I'm the best candidate for it.

I have this one, the link shows an image of the different skin colours and hair colour to show what should get you a good result. I am the colour of milk but my hair is mid brown. It has worked amazingly on my legs as in I only have a couple of stragglers coming through, gone from my toes completely, half the hair is gone from my underarms and my bikini line is reduce by at least 1/4 I would say. I only started using it 5 weeks ago but I am pleased with the results already.

It has a cooling fan so it is cold even though you can feel the body of the device warming up.
