Elemis alternatives

I’m just finishing my latest pot of cleansing balm and looking to buy a new one. It’s just so expensive. I’ve been a bit of a die hard Elemis user for a few years but just wondering if there are any tried and tested alternatives? I’ve been looking at Tropic but I don’t really know what I’m looking at and as I can’t see or feel the product in a bit nervous. I will buy Elemis again if no alternatives but thought I’d ask beforehand.

I’m 37, normal skin, can be a bit prone to a spot or clogged pores.

Look around for deals. I've tried the Marks And Spencer Pure one. Was ok, but not elemis. I've downgraded my moisturiser to keep the big pot. It does last to be fair.

In all honesty, any cleanser that suits your skin, and your budget will do its job. It goes down the sink in less than 2 minutes.

The Elemis is truly luxurious and feels heavenly, I had some as a gift and it made taking my face off a joy. But realistically I know that the £10 Boots one does the same job. By definition.

If you like a balm- then the N7 is lovely. White pot, lilac banding.
The Sali Hughes for Revolution is nearer in texture to the Elemis- a gloopy gel balm rather than a waxy solid balm. Smells a bit strong tbh, but is good for the price.

Elemis balm (the original) is my ride or die. However I have enjoyed the No7 and a Korean brand called Heimish.

I have the Elemis one and the Nip&Fab one and prefer the latter. Make up actually comes off easier with it and it also doesn’t have a scent.

I really like the Bondi Sands cleansing balm and it's about £12 for a tube. I've also got spot prone skin and this is one of the only ones that doesn't make me break out

Thanks all. Will definitely give the No 7 a go but I have a sinking feeling I may end up being a die hard Elemis fan.

Body shop chamomile is nice, not Elemis nice but still good. Have a look on QVC they often have Elemis deals. There's a 100g cleansing balm on there currently for £48 and you pay in 3 instalments.

Superdrug cleansing balm and M&S are also nice.

I used to use the Elemis one but also tried the body shop one. The Elemis is nicer, but the body shop one is perfectly decent. I’ve gone back to a Clinique one in a tube and I’ve found that it lasts so much longer, so I’m sticking with that.

Worth taking a look at Brand Alley too, they often have deals on Elemis kits.

frugalkitty · 01/05/2024 20:14

I haven't found one as good as Elemis for washing off without leaving a residue. QVC is good for deals, plus there's a FB group that's fab for selling at tsv prices. EBay or Vinted are worth checking out too.

I use the body shop cleansing butter.

I got an Elemis set for Xmas one year and loved it, fell in love with the marine moisturiser. I just can't afford it though, but nothings the same 😢

I feel you OP. My old faithful was eve lom after a friend gave me a pot as a present. I hated the price but it was perfect for me. I buy the biggest pot because it's something like 40 or 60% cheaper per ounce. I don't think elemis do different sizes? Anyway, from time to time i try different products and currently have an elemis as Look Fantastic had them on sale. It is really good and is my current alternative. Can you hold out for a sale?

Monuskin cleansing balm is the best
