Smart / fashionable footwear for summer for female 40yo

Just that- to wear with leggings as that's all I wear.

I've just started a new job where I can dress smart/ casual and have no idea what to wear as my previous job I've had to wear a uniform for 10+ years!

I am thinking leggings and a casual t shirt style top and what footwear? Can trainers or comfy shoes look smart AND be fashionable?

Any input greatly appreciated.

I don't think leggings and a t shirt is classed a smart casual? It's more leisurewear.

I'd wear trainers with leggings.

Please don’t wear leggings to work (unless you work at a gym).

Nothing is going to make you look smart as a grown adult if you insist on dressing like a toddler.
