Waterproof for camping...or dry robe?

Camping season is arriving and I've been toying with the idea of a dry robe type coat but a cheaper version for sitting out on colder nights and staying warm and dry in the rain maybe when walking about. I like that they are high coverage, waterproof and cosy, I'm not so keen on them looking ten sizes too big!
I don't know whether to bite the bullet and invest in one or spend the money on a really nice waterproof coat instead. The robes I'm looking at are around £80.
Oh, plus they all seem to be black, wacky colours or camo. Black is fine for a coat if a little boring?

Personally I have a decent waterproof and a lightweight padded jacket because they can be used if I want to go for a walk or I can just use just the thinner waterproof in its own if it's warm and drizzly.

How about a lightweight waterproof that can be layered for the day and a snuggly dryrobe (which is basically a very warm waterproof dressing gown) for being back at camp?
