Plus size funeral dress

My dad's funeral is coming up. I'm burned out on looking through endless black dresses, wonder if anyone could give some suggestions.

Needs to be church appropriate, so not too low cut, not sleeveless, not too clingy/tight, and at least midi length. Personal preference for short or half sleeves, but long is fine if I can roll them up. Budget under £100. I'm a size 22-24.

Thanks so much.

I am very sorry to hear about your dad. Flowers
Have you looked on “yours clothing”? They usually have some nice, flattering dresses.

be strong 😘

How about this Phase 8 Julissa Wrap Midi dress in John Lewis (sorry don't know how to send the link)

I'm so sorry about your dad.

I got a popsy dress for my mother in laws funeral last year, it was perfect. I'm size 20, it was flattering but modest. I got the Romeo one, but they have a few that could work.

Popsy will also alter sleeve and length for free, but time might restrict you on that.

Some lovely dresses being suggested.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad last year and got a beautiful, church appropriate one from Shein! Had looked everywhere and finally found one there. X

Thank you for the lovely suggestions, while I've scrolled Yours and Curvissa and Next to death, Popsy wasn't one I'd thought of and they have a couple that could definitely work.

The Phase8 dress suggested is gorgeous but I'm wavering between "I will never be able to wear this again" and "I want to wear this again".

Thank you for the kind words also. Dad had terminal cancer but typically decided to go weeks or months before the doctors said he would. It was peaceful and fortunately not the traumatic death he was predicted with his type of cancer.

Forget that. I bought the Phase Eight dress. Thank you @Ranleigh, it didn't come up with your first post but with your second I was able to see that it was available only in my size. I love wrap dresses so I will attempt to wear it more than once. Thanks again x

It's a lovely dress @hoarahloux. Very elegant. With my father's funeral, I made a point re-wearing my outfit again so that I didn't associate it with sadness. I know that my Dad wouldn't have wanted that.

I'm glad the end was peaceful for your Dad and not traumatic. Take care of yourself in the coming months. You've had to process so much in so short a time and you must be exhausted - be kind to yourself x

Try a company called Taking Shape. I'm currently sat in a black dress from them, v neck, 3/4 length sleeves, below the knee (I'm 5'4) and has pockets. I'm a size 24/26 but their sizing is very generous so I'm wearing a 22/24. Definitely worth checking them out.
