Daily spf

This is my first toe tipping into S&B! I'm hoping for some help with finding an easy to apply daily spf.

I have skin cancer and need a daily spf, I had a search for old threads about this and ended up buying altruist face fluid.
It arrived today and I hate it, so I’m hoping for some other recommendations.

Basically what I want is fairly cheap, ideally good for sensitive/dry skin but the biggest thing, and the main problem I have with altruist is I want it to be easy to rub in, it was so lumpy and didn't rub in well at all, on the dry parts of my skin it's just stuck there now and wouldn't rub in, it felt the opposite of fluid.

I know it's pathetic but it just made me cry, as it’s just another problem related to my skin, I want something easy to put on (I even struggled getting it out of the tube as it was quite cottage cheese texture) has anyone got any recommendations?

Thank you

I don't know if it's available easily in the UK but this is the best I've ever used. BIORÉ AQUA RICH UV. I think it's probably available on Amazon.

WibblyCat · 27/04/2024 16:01

I don't think this sounds pathetic at all.
I really like Cetaphil Daily Defence SPF 50 - it isn't expensive and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all - just very moisturising and offers good protection. Cerave also do an SPF 30 (can't remember the name) which I also like - depends which are on offer.

I believe it's available at Superdrug so probably most bigger stores.

Thank you all! Going to have a look at all the recommended.

I would message Altruist about it. I've had it before and it shouldn't be like that. My favourite is B. SPF 50 from Superdrug, orange and white tube 14.99 50ml but almost always half price with a loyalty card.

I was asked to trial this product by QandA.
It was lovely and absorbed easily I even wore it over make up.

I use a la roche posey spf50 gel. It glides on much like a gel (although it’s not) and has a mattifying effect.

I have pretty sensitive skin which it doesn’t aggravate and it smells lovely.

I shared this link recently. I use the Garnier one www.instagram.com/reel/Cqj0_fIskWd/?igsh=MTIzenZ2bnJnZ25vcA==

LapinShelf · 27/04/2024 16:35

I've used the Biore one and I like it, doesn't leave a white cast. Currently using Nivea anti-shine spf 50 which is a bit thicker but I love the scent, reminds me of holidays. Also rate the La Roche Posay one (Nivea is the cheapest of the ones I like and I'm tightening my belt).

I literally just use SPF50 suncream every day. During summer months I don't wear foundation or tinted moisturiser so I can keep topping up the suncream during the day.

MoonAndSaturn · 27/04/2024 18:00

I swear by the Biore suncream that has been mentioned upthread. You can buy it in Superdrug now too.

marmitegirl01 · 27/04/2024 18:55

The new No7 one is great. SPF 50. Very light, non greasy and I have greasy skin.
I've never really used a daily one before but this is good so far. Not that it is being tested by the sun at present!! 🤷‍♀️

ASighMadeOfStone · 27/04/2024 18:57

I use whichever is on offer, generally a Garnier, I like the one with the brown band across the packaging best.

I've used Biore in the past, also great.

friendschild · 27/04/2024 19:19

I use a spf 50 face primer from beauty pie. It's great. Really light and non greasy. Easy to wear under makeup or on its own.

I use the altruist cream and it’s fine,

dizzyupthegirl86 · 27/04/2024 19:49

Yeah, I think you’ve had a dodgy altruist one - if it’s definitely the face fluid one, it’s very light in texture.
I do like it, but the Biore one is my favourite at the moment. My skin can lean quite oily so I tend to use it instead of moisturiser.
