Pink trouser suit?

I’m a goblet shape/leggy apple, 5’9, early 40s, size 12 on the bottom and 14 on top (broad shoulders, fairly big boobs, thick waisted). Trousers look good as long as they’ve got a bit of stretch at the waist band - otherwise I have to size up to a 14 and then there’s excess fabric over my hips and thighs that isn’t flattering.

I’ve got a few dressy outdoor occasions coming up where I was planning on wearing skirts and tops from my wardrobe, but this cold, wet spring makes those impossible as they wouldn’t work with opaques. I’m constantly cold lately.

I’m seeing lots of pink trouser and relaxed jacket suits around which seem quite fun. Don’t mind spending up to £400 as I’d be able to wear both pieces as separates, longer term.

But I haven’t yet encountered any with trousers that have flex at waist. Also need a longer length, or to be from a brand that assumes long legs. Anyone seen one like that? Any shade of cool pink works for my skin tone.

If not, any ideas for alternate options that keep legs and arms warm but still spring vibe/colours? Nothing that emphasises the waist works for me - and must be able to create a v neckline or I’m all chest.

Hi, have you thought about spending less on a suit but pay to have a cheaper on tailored? Then it would literally fit you like a glove! I’m a Apple with boobs and feel your pain 😉

That is a great suggestion, and one I should utilize longer term. I do minor alterations myself sometimes - letting down trouser hems, raising skirt hems, adding darts, and the like, but I’m not good enough in my sewing machine for proper tailoring.

Unfortunately there’s no time to do so for these events - the first is on Friday. (I‘ve stupidly been desperately hoping the weather will improve, and ignoring the forecast…)

I’ve got this week off work so can go shopping but I’d like some idea where to start if possible. (In between two cities which mostly stock different range of labels.)
