Waterproof spring/autumn coat help!

I know, it’s not bad weather it’s bad clothing…

I have to walk approx 2 miles twice daily for the school run.
I am so sick of being wet through.
My bulky winter coats are just too hot (although not today, but still!)
I have been using a Joules Coast jacket but it’s a few years old, no longer keeps the rain out, and is a bit small if I’m honest. Also too short.

Where should I start looking? I want something that covers my backside, is lined (not the plastic pack away style) and is waterproof with a hood. Ideally in a nice colour or pattern, not plain black or navy. No need for lots of warmth, I can add layers if I need them. I wear a size 12 normally.
I am in no way fashionable but drowned rat is seriously not a good look!

Happy to shop online as very few options nearby.
I’ve looked at Joules, Fatface, Mountain Warehouse but they are all quite small shops and had very little.
It’s been so long since I’ve needed a new coat that I’m just lost really. I have some money from my mum and willing to spend up to £200 for the right coat.

as you can see I have an interest in waterproof coats. I have a dog.

Have a look at Endangered Species. I bought a raincoat from them after an MN recommendation. It's super lightweight, windproof and waterproof and is sort of fluid and silky material, and very stylish. It was about £170 but I googled for discounts and got money off as a new customer.

I bring out my seasalt tin cloth seaside Mac every Spring and Autumn. It’s a very brightly patterned knee length waterproof, lined and with a hood. They don’t make the exact one anymore but they often come up on eBay, although not in my colour way, which I think was called “ painterly” or something similar. Strangers often say “ I love your coat”
You might not want to take style advice from me though as I’m 67!

@lenalemonade are the rainsisters coats properly waterproof for a downpour, or are they more shower-proof? I’ve been hesitating over one for years but if it’s downpour-type-waterproof then I’ll indulge!

I'm not usually one for spending a lot on clothes but I wear it a lot and it makes me feel fabulous. The colour of mine is called Storm and it's dark grey with a hint of purple.
