What shoes would you wear with this dress?

40th birthday party on Saturday, I have this LBD and the plan is to glam it up a bit, but what shoes?

I can't do bare legs, so I will be wearing tights. Also can't do high stilleto heels but don't mind trying medium heel or wedge. I'm limited to where I can get before Saturday so Amazon, boohoo or Next really.

I have a pair of silver strappy sandals but not with tights? I'm size 18-20 so I don't look like the model! Size 7 shoe and I'm 35, if that helps.

I never go out-out anymore so this is probably causing me more anxiety than it should. Also it's not a close friendship group, she's a school gate acquaintance more than anything.

Could literally wear anything except perhaps blue. Leopard print? A bright coloured wedge?

I'd go for a wedge too... obviously closed toe if you're going to be wearing tights and I'd choose them in a patent finish

I'd go with a pair of Irregular Choice but then they're a pretty personal decision 😈

When was the last time you wore heels?

I used to run around the city in heels all day & night, never gave it a thought. Then didn't wear them for a while (travelling and living in ski resorts etc)

..and now I can't walk in them!!

I think pretty much anything goes with that style of dress. I'd go with something you own that's comfortable or you risk being miserable all night.

I've never really worn heels but had a pair on for a wedding a couple of weeks ago and that was okay! Toes were sore at the end of the night but I coped.

Some great suggestions here, thank you. I just don't know what my style is anymore and don't want to look out of place.
