Sunglasses

I need a new pair of sunglasses. Which glasses have the best lenses as I want to invest in a good pair of glasses without spending a fortune. I saw some glasses by Le Specs which I liked. Are they considered as having good lenses? And are polarised lenses better? I like the shape of Celine Baby Audrey style, but not the price tag! That being said I'll pay up to £200 if lenses are considered to be amazing. I have pale blue eyes, so good lenses are essential.

I have 2 pairs of cheapy supermarket sunglasses and one Ray ban.

There is no difference in sun protection, and I prefer the frames of the cheaper ones.

I have two pairs of polarised Ray-ban (worth the extra money to get polarised lenses).

Their aftercare is brilliant,I broke a pair (still had the receipt) and they replaced them no questions asked even though they were at least 2 years old. I was expecting to pay to get them mended but they sent me a new pair.

All my sunglasses are from Mykita. They're handmade in Berlin and incredible quality. They're a bit over your budget (usually around £500) but occasionally you can get a good prices in the sales if you look carefully.

@wondabar this tells you all about what polarised lenses do (at the bottom). I use them as they stop the glare from the water on roads when it's sunny and with our weather I can be driving in pouring rain one minute, the next it's sunny and the reflection from the water can be horrible (I used to squint a lot in normal sunglasses).

Ray ban have gone downhill in quality.

TK Maxx often have names brand ones at a cheaper price if you're on a budget.

Meller are inexpensive and have some lovely designs.

I wear Randolph Engineering sunglasses - official suppliers to airlines, air forces, NASA and me.
They have different lens styles, also different lens sizes for different size faces.
The glare reduction is excellent but the colours retain their proportion rather than everything being darkened.

I have these. Best polarised sunglasses I've ever had and my eyes are quite light sensitive. They have lots of other styles.

Rayban polarising as per op's

It's like putting a pair of 4k glasses

There's always someone that comments the quality has gone down hill (Barbour/sorel/hunter/tnf/ ad infinitim) but they are still good solid glasses that will last you several years

I have had mine 5 years now. Compared to the one pair a year I was churning through before

Definitely get polarised sunglasses they are a world apart. Driving is so much safer.
