Can anyone recommend a good facial sunscreen (for use on holiday, not under makeup). Non greasy, doesn't make eyes sting if get it in your eyes. Am going mad looking at so many brands!

I've just started using L'Oréal Revitalift Clinical Anti-UV Fluid spf50 which specifically states it can be applied to the eyelids & around the eye area. So it doesn't make my eyes sting. There's no 'white cast' & it doesnt make my skin look shiny either. It's perfect under makeup.

I will be using it in holiday too both on the beach and in town.

Totally agree with this recommendation.

This one is excellent (Amber Solaire Uktra Light Sensitive Face Fluid SPF50). Hardly need any, lasts an age.

Piz Buin Face Sensitive, in a small flat brown tube, Comes in 30 or 50. Doesn't make your face shiny or white like so many.

UmberMoose · 20/04/2024 16:18

I don't prefer expensive products but good ones which work like Amber Solaire Uktra.
Here is my routine that I follow:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Amber Solaire Uktra spf
Evening:
Vanicream moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 20/04/2024 16:20

Altruist. Brilliant sunscreen generally and the face fluid is lovely. Can see they now do a primer with SPF too.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 20/04/2024 16:28

Gruum factor 50 every day face protection. And small flat bottles

Surely the Tretinoin should be applied first and your spf should go on last?

Thanks everyone. I'm going to order the Piz Buin.

I've experimented with lots of suncreams over the years including most of the ones mentioned (skincare is a hobby and I'm really pale). By far the best are Biore UV Aqua Water Essence Sunscreen and Nivea Sun Protect Super Water Gel (the nivea is becoming hard to find though). Both are very light and feel moisturising.

AngryLikeHades · 20/04/2024 16:46

Not a luxury brand or just for facial use, but the Nivea kids one that goes on green/blue high factor is very good because it doesn't sting your eyes.

sillylittlethings · 20/04/2024 16:59

Pix buin has a very low rating. Boots solan has 5 stars.

I second this.

After you throw away the Piz Buin, buy Ultra Violette. It comes in hydrating and oil free. Best sunscreen ever.

totallybonafido · 20/04/2024 22:07

This one is great, I do have sensitive eyes and it never makes them sting or water

This is my go to:

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid SPF30 50ml

oberst · 21/04/2024 07:53

Ultra Violette

Is it that bad? I haven't ordered yet.

Bondi Beach, dries clear and no smell and really reasonable and good for my sensitive skin.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/04/2024 10:55

**Bondi Sands not beach

This one, I can't use anything without stinging and don't get a thing with this one.
