Face SPF before or after moisturiser?

I have always moisturised then, several minutes later after it’s absorbed, applied Super city block (before it was discontinued) but I recently heard someone saying they apply face SPF then moisturiser on top.
How would moisturiser get through the spf to do anything? Doesn’t it risk rubbing off the spf you applied?

So, just curious, what order do you apply these?

After moisturiser, before makeup. If you don’t have super dry skin the SPF can double as a moisturiser, otherwise leave your moisturiser to absorb for 10ish minutes before putting on SPF

I'm glad you posted this, I bought a new spf serum today and am also confused.

mynameiscalypso · 19/04/2024 17:27

SPF is the last thing I put on before make up.

So do my usual routine, leave for 10mins then apply the spf serum. Thank you!

I knew my way made more sense! Grin
I was baffled why they did it the other way around.

Moisturizer then SPF here, or if it's really hot and humid my skin may be ok with just the SPF cream no moisturizer. I agree if you were to put moisturizer on after the spf I feel it may cause the SPF to be rubbed off!

Yes your way

Spf should be the last step of your skincare routine and followed by your make up if you wear any.

isthismylifenow · 19/04/2024 19:08

Absolutely your way. The other way makes no sense to me.

I apply moisturiser first, let it sink in for a bit, then spf and finally makeup, if I'm going to wear any.
It doesn't make any sense to me either to apply spf before moisturiser.
