As the name suggests, I'm short and fat. Size 18 typically. I'd like something not too high in the leg, preferably stomach control or at least ruched over the stomach area. I'd love a bandeau that can be worn with and without straps.
I'm struggling to find any that aren't shown on a rail thin, B cup, 6 foot model. While they look stunning, this absolutely doesn't represent what it'll look like on me.
I don't really want to pay over £45/50.
I would like it to look pretty, but for my boob's not to fall out when I actually swim in it.
Thank you 😊

Have you looked at M&S? They are pretty good at tummy control swimwear.

Smokedsausagesupper · 18/04/2024 11:00

Figleaves

This is 😍

Figroll16 · 18/04/2024 17:55

Know it's slightly more than your budget but these are lovely! I've got 3 now-they suck stomach in without feeling like my intestines are being squeezed out of me!

Sorry it's not Bandeau

Simple Be have some lovely tummy control swimsuits and it's free delivery if you choose "click and collect".
The sizing is quite good but I would also order the next size up too, returns are pretty straight forward.
They also sell tankinis, they have a black blouson type tankini top(hides wobbly bits) then you'd just need bikini bottoms.
They also have patterned tankinis.

Pour moi after fantastic.

That Figleaves swimsuit is gorgeous!

KarateSchnitzel · 18/04/2024 21:02

I second pour moi. Also, next and m and s. All three decent quality

WhatWouldYouDo33 · 18/04/2024 21:04

Tk Maxx NipTuck range, they are all £25

Have you looked at surfing one pieces? Those bad boys can hold sh*t in. They tend to be crafted for lots of movement. I'd say a zip up one would suit you, you could leave to slightly open to show off a nice bikini top.

Same measurements as yourself and swear by Lands End Tugless swimsuits. I swim 3 x per week and they are my go to costume. Also cover bottom well and don't ride up. Make sure you look at the UK and not US site. Very often have offers.

I thought these were the answer to my swimming costume dreams, as they're comfy and pretty and flattering. However, mine has faded really badly within a couple of months and isn't lasting well at all.

I've had more luck with m and s, though they still fade - but usually seem to fade to okay colours.

marmiteloversunite · 18/04/2024 23:23

Does anyone else think that the M&S costumes this year are really short in the body? I even ordered the "tall" costumes but not much better. I'm 5'5 and have no boobs after a double mastectomy so can't even blame them! Confused

EasterIssland · 18/04/2024 23:55

I just got a few from cupshe.

AnnieSF · 19/04/2024 00:52

I agree with Pour Moi. The quality is fantastic and that needs to be a priority. The cheap clothes shops' swimwear is awful - no support . You could shoot peas through them ! www.pourmoi.co.uk/swimwear/swimsuits/strapless-bandeau/

Onesipmore · 19/04/2024 08:08

Any of the swimsuits from Cupshe. Good value, prettifying and supportive

SamuelDJackson · 19/04/2024 08:30

And some are on sale, in your price range

Shortfatandangry · 19/04/2024 09:02

Thanks folks, will have a gander.
