Help me identify a perfume note

There's a particular scent that's around that I absolutely adore, but I don't know what it is. I've smelled it out and about for about 15 years now, never before that. It's presumably in perfumes? Its also in my daughter's favorite shampoo: L'Oreal Elvive Extrordinary Oil. It's sort of sweet and almost smoky at the same time? I've had a bit of a google and can't come up with anything.

Following as I've also noticed a smell around lately that I really like.

Could it be angelica?

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Chamomilla Recutita Extract/Matricaria Flower Oil Extract, Cocos Nucifera Oil/Coconut Oil, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Benzyl Alcohol, Cinnamal, Linalool, Linum Usitatissimum Flower Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower Extract, Rosa Canina Flower Extract, Bisabolol, Glycine Soja Oil/Soybean Oil, Parfum/Fragrance

Those are the ingredients
It will probably be Gardenia or Roses
Cinnamal is cinnamon

Think it tiare flower perfume, you smell it everywhere in Tahiti.

Banking on it being the gardenia. It's in lots of fragrances and a lovely sweet creamy floral.

Argan oil? Smell Moroccan Oil products to see if it's the same. Loads of hair products that are marketed with "oil" imitate the same scent. I'm not sure it's the actual smell of argan oil but it's really pleasant.

It could also be Amber, which would fit with the colour and the description of sweet & smoky. Try smelling the Ambre candle by Diptyque to see if it has the same notes.

Could be oud? Is it woody?

I'm going through dublin airport today; hopefully I'll have time to sniff some things in the duty free on the way through.

I think as pp it's the "parfum" probably mimicking "oil"

It's definitely not sweet or milky like white flowers.

Real Argan oil smells like a donkey's sweaty arse so you wouldn't want to be smelling of that. When it became a big thing in skincare about a decade- 15 years ago you got the unadulterated stuff, and magic though it is, it was euuuuuu. I've got a bottle of organic Argan and it smells nothing like it used to, definitely toned down.

But I think Elvive have tried to add an kind of "slightly spiced oil" fragrance to the range.
