Are my eyebrows really bad?

I have none
Over plucked when I was young and they never grew back.
I use a brow pencil to draw them on but they never look nice.
This is them
Are they bad?
How can I improve them?

I like Gimme Brow too.
I'd be very wary of any thing permanent or even semi-permanent; a friend had hers tattooed and they just don't look right.
Not saying don't do it, just really shop around and get recommendations.

The colour is too dark and you have arched them too much. You can see the natural shape of your brow in the first pic and it sits way below where you have drawn yours.

I agree that we need a picture without make up

MushMonster · 15/04/2024 06:50

On your first picture they looked far too dark.
Maybe use a little lighter pencil.
They are too thick, too filled in.
There are no strokes that resemble hairs.
There are pencils out there that draw hair like strokes and look really natural.
That and a lighter base should do it.

ringoffiire · 15/04/2024 06:53

We can't actually see your brows OP because they are covered in makeup.

Ciri · 15/04/2024 06:53

This is the natural brow line

I think a pen with thinner lines would be good. Eg https://amzn.to/3JjSU5B

And yes to a stencil for shape if you need.

Cheeesus · 15/04/2024 06:56

Why are you drawing them in a different place than your natural brow line?

JLT24 · 15/04/2024 06:58

They are too high and dark and the edges look too perfect so they look completely drawn on, which they shouldn’t.

I’d recommend Microblading. But choose someone who has lots of photos of natural looking brows and a professional looking Instagram/Web page (plus professional insurance etc). For example https://www.colettelambmicroblading.com/home

Choosing the wrong person to micro blade will be a disaster and look worse than drawn on as they are permanent

Oblomov24 · 15/04/2024 06:59

They are too dark and too unnatural.
Even addicted to the flats are too a bit too much for my liking.

LaMarschallin · 15/04/2024 07:01

Like others, I'm not sure why you've drawn them in above your natural eyebrow line.
I think this is what happened to my friend's brows - tattooed just slightly above but they look a but off.

Wells25 · 15/04/2024 07:22

I just got mine done properly by a pmu and it's so nice not to have to bother with them. I tried micro blading first but when I had my top up we decided to do powder brows and I love them. It's definitely worth the money.
Just do your research before look for someone who has lots of experience and examples of work.

Pigeonqueen · 15/04/2024 07:32

You can make them look a lot better by using Rimmel eyebrow pencil in Hazel or possibly even the lighter colour, just follow the natural curve of your brow, fill in a little and use the brush to blend out. You’re trying to completely change the shape of them which is too harsh.

therestisstillunwriten · 15/04/2024 07:43

This is with nothing on them
As you can see awful and one of them does have a natural high arch

I don't think I am drawing them higher than my brow
I just follow what's there
They naturally uneven and one higher

Ciri · 15/04/2024 07:46

You need to bring that arch down though with your make up shaping. Otherwise due to the very heavy make up you’re using it looks like you’ve drawn them in unevenly

Ciri · 15/04/2024 07:47

Plus remember that you’ve created that arch through the plucking so you need to uncreate it by smoothing out the top

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/04/2024 07:47

Your natural brows are much better. Go to your local salon and get a brow tint and shape. That’s a good starting point. It’s far better to start from your natural brow. I think you have more brow than you think. The tint will catch the light fine hair as well and you won’t have to draw the angry birds on every day.

Runningonempty01 · 15/04/2024 07:49

Your natural brows look great.

Your natural brows look much better than in the photo where you've overdrawn them and you look like one of the Angry Birds!

You just need to master the art of a lighter touch when drawing them in. Did you watch the YouTube video I posted? She draws them on and they look natural.

therestisstillunwriten · 15/04/2024 07:50

That eyebrow is still going to be really high tho isn't it ?
Regardless if I smooth it out

therestisstillunwriten · 15/04/2024 07:51

@DrJoanAllenby I did yes
I watch so many YouTube tutorials etc
It just gets to me doing it...and goes all to pot

Your natural brows look 100% better than your coloured in ones. They are no where near as thin as I was expecting. NYX Lift and Snatch do a really excellent pen - just start in the middle and then fill in both ends using a light hand and an upward stroke and keep brushing through with a spoolie. There are some excellent tutorials on instagram, if I can find the one I am thinking of, I will let you know.

LaMarschallin · 15/04/2024 07:52

Your natural brows don't look that bad to me. They're certainly better than your made-up ones.
I was expecting something like my mother's brows: she shaved them completely off in her youth so she could redraw them where she wanted (apparently the fashion) and only the very inner part grew back, tapering off so they looked like two tadpoles in the middle of her forehead. She had to draw them back in every day.
She couldn't have used Gimme Brow because there were no hairs to put it on, but I think it would work really well for you.

Pigeonqueen · 15/04/2024 07:57

I would actually pluck the high arch so that it sits more in line with the natural curve of the other one (in fact I do this with my own) even if it leaves a bit of a gap, and then use pencil to fill this in and add fullness. Modern shapes are really softly curved rather than arched and I think if you leave them and don’t keep accentuate the arch eventually they’ll fill out a bit.

honeylulu · 15/04/2024 09:18

I really recommend that you see a permanent make up artist. Ask on your local FB groups for personal recommendations or if you see someone whose brows you admire - ask them, that's what I did.

The lady I saw was amazing and talked me through the different options. Microblading has a very definitive look (which might be your preference) but there are other options. I chose a "soft powder brow" which is still semi permanent tattoo but more natural looking. It follows the line of my natural brows but added more definition and a deeper colour - my natural brows had faded and become more sparse in my 40s. I'm really happy with them. I still add a little more black eyebrow pencil to the "heads" when I've got a full face of make up on, to give a more glamorous evening look if I fancy.
