What would you wear age 43, size 22, for a night out dancing?

As the title says really! I prefer dresses, knee length, short sleeves, budget ideally under £100 but would go over for the right dress. Any colour but prefer black/blue/green/patterned, not keen on white/cream/yellow/orange. I've been looking on Next, M&S, John Lewis, Yours & Simply Be but nothing's quite right. It's a fun night out so I don't want a wedding outfit look, but need something that flattering on me (not too tight, short etc). Any suggestions?

I'm definitely tempted by the green sequins, and I love the black sequin Live Unlimited one too. I might order a few to try on and see how they feel

Agree, they're both pretty perfect.

Thank you all, looks like leopard print is the winner!

Glad you found some dresses you like.

Just wanted to add something - on the off chance you are wearing tights and can't find the right ones.

It occurred to me as you said you liked one website that had realistic models. Have you tried Snags?

I mention this as I stopped wearing dresses/skirts etc as I hate hate hate tights. Because they never fit, the crotch slides half way to my knees and I'm constantly tugging at them. We were just away and I knew I was going to need to wear dresses a couple of times and someone had recommended Snags so I thought I'd give them a go.

OMG!! (& I hate that phrase as much as tights!) Their tights are great! No tugging at all - good fit (& I'm a size 24) and a fantastic variety of colours and thickness. I got the 80 and 120 denier tights as well as a wool pair (as we were way north and I needed a warm layer under my jeans).

50 Denier Tights - Snag (snagtights.com)

Yes I have lots of Snags. Their leggings are great too, I wear them all the time. I do hate their marketing though

Yes I'll have a think about footwear, I have a few pairs of trainers I could wear. I'll see what goes well and what I feel like at the time.

It's gone from the website now but it was phase 8. Would definitely recommend you take a look

It's my birthday on Monday and I'll be at the shops including John Lewis so I'll take a look!

I can't link it but it's on asos, twisted wunder and they have size 22 in stock, it's £16.50 and possibly another 20% off with the code DRESSY

I like that it's longer at the back so if you've got bigger bum then your skirt won't be too short at the back and it looks great with flats :)

Same age and size (I'm taller though) and love the leopard print!

Hope you have a fab night out!

I would go for leggings oversized T and a bright blazer

Fannyfiggs · 18/04/2024 06:49

They are all gorgeous on you but I agree with others that the leopard print one is the winner.
