What gives you the ick for no particular reason ?

When I was younger I would have loved to have had longer nails but sadly they used to break easily so they've been short my whole life. Odd now then that when I see those long talon nails ( incompatible with real life imo) that they totally give me the ick....like a small repulsion on sight. 😖

What's your irrational 'ick'?

Most of these are not 'no particukar reason' they are 100% bona fide.

Mine (which is a legitimate ick) would be too much flesh on show unless it is in an appropriate place .
At the beach or in your own garden, knock yourself out .
.

Agree with crop tops and mini skirts/too tight leggings.

I am all for body positivity but a cropped top with rolls of fat bunched up in the middle is just super unattractive. I just cant understand why you'd dress like that when it looks so bloody awful- cropped tops and mini skirts only look good on a tiny proportion of the population (and I exclude myself from that group too which is why I dont wear them either)

Tanyaaah · 14/04/2024 14:56

People who get the ick from other people not painting their nails.

God, yes....what's that all about??

They are obviously showing off their natural beauty no makeup needed 😂😂😂

Agree with @Moier

My mum always said she thought my dad looked like an overgrown baby when wearing a hoodie. He, in turn, said she looked like Bet Lynch any time she wore leopard print.

Seeing someone scraping a yogurt pot with a spoon to get the last bit out😂

yogpot · 14/04/2024 15:06

Small children, as in actual toddlers, wearing jewellery.

Michael Kors handbags, although that one is truly a me problem.

TaraT28 · 14/04/2024 15:06

I agree and find long nails creepy. I do not mind a bit of length on others, but keep mine short.

weareallqueens · 14/04/2024 15:11

Yy to the camel toe enhancing leggings.

And another vote for the dry robes. I always wonder if they just want the world to know they go wild swimming.

People who lick the lid! Used to work with a (fairly hot) guy who did this and it managed to keep my crush at bay.

Speaking as someone who treats people who have had amputations this is in extremely poor taste .
They are in no way comparable and you are as shallow as a puddle

And that is me being polite .

I cannot believe you think that let alone posted it.

That is so nasty. A person who has an outie belly button can't help it any more than someone can help their height or their eye colour. I think we're supposed to be talking about choices people actively make with regard to their appearance.

I don't think someone who has lost their limb has much choice either.

Frauhubert · 14/04/2024 16:40

-Oh yes! Small children wearing earrings and jewellery. This includes me as a child as my mum got my ears pierced when I was 1 year old 😵‍💫 (it’s a cultural thing, nevertheless I find it cringe af)
-nose piercing, especially septum 🫢 I am sorry, I can’t control how I feel about it
-men wearing sleeveless tops, unless maybe in the gym? I can’t stand the look of men’s armpit, don’t have problem with womens’

usernother · 14/04/2024 16:43

Nose rings. Always look like a snot is dangling from a nostril. Bleurrrgh.

Oversized, colourful plastic glasses in the style of Timmy Mallet.

Summer feet with hard yellow crusty heels in lovely shoes.

Top and bottom matching tracksuits that make you look like a prisoner on day release.

Nude leggings and cellulite bums.
