Levi's jeans- leather patch. To remove or not?

I realise this may be a really stupid question but are you supposed to remove the leather patch on Levi's jeans? The men's ones have the size on them which makes me think you should but the women's don't. I tried to google to save myself the embarrassment of asking but I'm still none the wiser. What do you do?

Ive always left mine on? But maybe that's terribly gauche of me i have no idea!

HoppingPavlova · 13/04/2024 10:46

Never known anyone to take it off.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 13/04/2024 10:48

It's sewn on so firmly that it's never occurred to me that it would be temporary. I've always left them on.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 13/04/2024 10:50

No. it's not meant to come off.

Obeseandashamed · 13/04/2024 10:53

I took mine off but didn't know I wasn't supposed to 🤣

Depending on the age and style, they sometimes have/had papery labels on the back, and I would often take those of when they got tatty. But the leather ones I leave on.

I have lots of pairs of Levi's and solely worn them as jeans for years and never took the leather tab off. They're meant to stay on :)

Cheeesus · 13/04/2024 15:00

They used to have an extra bit with the size on. Like a perforated bit at the side of the label. That I would take off. Not sure if they still do. Can you share a photo?

Cheeesus · 13/04/2024 15:02

It’s this purple bit I’d remove, my drawing. The rest stays.

Thanks all! I have taken the label off one pair but will leave them on the rest. 😂

Isn't the label part of the iconic branding you pay for? Why would you even think it's meant to be removed?

calligraphee · 13/04/2024 16:32

It's supposed to stay on.

Edited

I noticed it had an external reference to the size and that made me think who would want their clothes size showing as I know I wouldn't?
