Skin mystery - help!

Hello.

I am in my fifties. I normally have clear skin, but for the past few months I've had these bumpy, red lovelies around my mouth.

Went to GP. They're not cold sores and the fungal cream that I was given actually made things worse.

I am using sudracrem, which seems to hold things steady, bit I want them gone

Any thoughts, skin experts? Thank you.

Does your toothpaste contain a lot of SLS? That can cause breakouts around the mouth (most whitening/fresh toothpastes do)

I can also see irritation between your nose and mouth though. Perioral dermatitis?

I have absolutely no qualifications or expertise in this field but could it be an allergy to a product? I had a burning around my chin and mouth/ lower cheeks and realised I was sensitive to a very specific ingredient in a luxury natural skincare product. I think it was strawberry seed in my case. Can you do an elimination skincare ‘diet’?

Thank you. It doesn't feel like a reaction, but I will have a think about what I am using.

Thank you. It does! I will switch and see what happens.

I think that is a hangover from when I developed pneumonia before Christmas. I was absolutely streaming with a cold and my skin there didn't like it.
