I used to be EE double wear. Then moved to more BB or cc creams.eborian was the latest but now feeling my skin doesn't look right with this either. I've seen Laura Geller baked malarkey advertised a lot but not sure.

Recommend me something that will make me look glowy/dewey and not cake or look ancient. I'm 50 but don't want to feel or look it lol.

Another vote for Armani Luminous Silk and I tried out LOADS for my son’s wedding! I wear it with Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter underneath as a base

SuperGreens · 10/04/2024 21:57

I love CHANEL LES BEIGES Eau De Teint Water-Fresh very light but covers well and doesnt settle.

IHateLegDay · 10/04/2024 22:10

The ordinary! Their foundation is amazing. I'll never look back.

Jemimapuddleduk · 10/04/2024 23:15

If EL double wear worked for you I’d highly recommend the EL hydra futurist. I swapped about 2 years ago. It’s medium/full coverage and stays in place all day but is more glowy. It’s gorgeous and doesn’t cause any break outs. I tried MANY before this one and now will not use anything else.

Jemimapuddleduk · 10/04/2024 23:18

Oh and my mum who is mid 70’s uses it too and looks amazing.

Onand · 10/04/2024 23:18

That glow doesn’t come in a tube, it’s from within. Excellent hydration, no smoking, no alcohol, wear spf, glycolic toner, double cleanse, good moisturiser, retinoid with work far better than any foundation.

Lavenderandbrown · 11/04/2024 00:16

@Onand while I agree with your list for improving skin in reality even movie stars use high end foundation for an impeccable finish. I do all of the above have great skin (or so I am told by many) but I still feel a very light application of Armani just smoothes evens plumps and glows up my skin. It’s a very polished look which is different from the fed from within look

Wednesdaysotherchild · 11/04/2024 00:21

I’m 40s and really enjoying the Merit serum and foundation stick combo - natural glowy light coverage, not drying, doesn’t gather in folds, covers my blotchy reddish skin. Also clean/cruelty free which are two key things for me. Also not annoying on, feels light etc.

AbbeFausseMaigre · 11/04/2024 00:28

Trinny London Rebalance was absolutely incredible, right in the elusive sweet spot between BB and foundation, long lasting with a soft dewy finish. It got fantastic reviews but for some inexplicable reason they have replaced it with a heavier, matte alternative which, judging by the reviews, everyone hates. Watching this thread for when my supply finally runs out.

I've got Clinique Even Better Glow. Is No7 hydraluminous better than this?

I only had a sample (quite a big one of the Clinique) and I'd say it's slightly more glowy than Hydraluminous.
I did think I might try a full bottle of it- I've always rated Clinique foundation.

ASighMadeOfStone · 11/04/2024 05:54

@Mumteedum you say your Erborian is the CC- in that case you might like the BB. It has more coverage than the CC (and western style BBs) but is definitely glowy. Skin just looks great.

Ichangedmynameonce · 11/04/2024 07:11

Which hydra luminous one? There are 2. Thanks

Stickyricepudding · 11/04/2024 07:20

Charlotte Tulbury Beautiful Skin foundation mixed with Mulberry Illuminating primer gives a lovely night out glow. The foundation on its own gives your the your Skin but better look.

totalnamechanger · 11/04/2024 08:11

Ichangedmynameonce it is this one which I used for a few years and Sali Hughes recommended. I’m not sure what the other one is.

I really like Trinny London - the BFF cream and de-stress products.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 11/04/2024 08:23

I love Clinique Even Better. It makes my skin look amazing.SIL bought itafter asking what I use and it was awful for her.I tried the MAC she raved about and it caked my skin.So it's all about skin type and finding what suits yours I suppose.

Jins · 11/04/2024 08:29

@Mumteedum I just bought the Laura Geller baked foundation and I really like it. I bought the shade fair and it matched pretty well when blended with a brush. I’m a bit older than you and find that liquid foundations slide around and cream foundations accentuate my fine lines. I’ve been using the JML one but fancied a change.

Laura Geller’s website ships to the UK and if you leave something in your basket at the moment you get a code for 30% off emailed to you 🤣

Paranoidprepper · 11/04/2024 08:36

Another vote for No7, but I always revert back to their Stay Perfect range.
I've just purchased the Serum and Defence Shield moisturiser/ cream from their new Future Renew range, too.

Ichangedmynameonce · 11/04/2024 08:54

Thanks @totalnamechanger

newfriend05 · 11/04/2024 10:49

I'm 54 and I use the Clinique Even better glow and have done for a while .. it's so smooth and don't cake and I have really dry skin

Mumteedum · 11/04/2024 13:03

Wow, so many great suggestions here. Thank you. I'm compiling a short list Grin

I have a Boots no 7 one and a wet and wild dupe for something more expensive but at the moment I normally use an Eborian one. The mauve tube that comes out lilac and is for full skin. I use the Dore one in summer! I now only use foundation when I am going out outs!

Deathraystare · 11/04/2024 15:14

In a rush I use the Laura Geller one but prefer the balance and glow which is harder to get - well, the light shade anyway. You can get it from Amazon and QVC.

Mumteedum · 12/04/2024 16:23

Update... I bought the ordinance serum foundation as it was cheap as chips on Amazon. It is very like a L'Oréal Age Perfect BB. This worked great on me a while ago but now seems to slide off my face.

I forgot about the Trinny one so thanks whoever mentioned that.. I might give it a go next as I was interested in her stuff though am wondering about @Jins Laura Geller baked. Is it not dry looking? I feel like it solves the sliding around but then does it not look powdery..which is not good when you get older?

Maybe I just need to drink more water and sleep better for a bit 🤔🙈🙈
