I used to be EE double wear. Then moved to more BB or cc creams.eborian was the latest but now feeling my skin doesn't look right with this either. I've seen Laura Geller baked malarkey advertised a lot but not sure.

Recommend me something that will make me look glowy/dewey and not cake or look ancient. I'm 50 but don't want to feel or look it lol.

I’m not 50s, but I recommend eazy drops too as a PP suggested. I don’t need heavy coverage, just to even things out. It looks natural and it’s pretty cheap! I’ve tried so many, I like a Chanel one, but they discontinued, then literally everything, Hourglass (love the mascara, but the light foundation was claggy), Dior, you name it! I have the Eborian too, just bought it, but I find it a bit heavy (have the cc cream).

Mumteedum · 10/04/2024 20:05

I feel like aging skin is a moving target. What works for a bit isn't necessarily great a year later. How depressing! 😐🙈

Loved the eborian one for a bit. It's the white stuff that adapts to your skin. But today my skin looked awful by this afternoon. And I'd drunk plenty of water.

100%

Il Makiage

Online. Money back guarantee. I thought it was a scam, but honestly, best foundation I have ever used - and even got my 75 yr old mum onto it too!

It is a scam, they make you sign up
to a subscription which is hard to get out of.

It was cheap and nasty. I had orange skin, it clogged on my lines and went patchy. I binned it. They kept sending me a different shade of orange but it was all the same.

For a glow, Revolution superdewy tinted misturiser is good. If you go to the product on the Revolution website, there's a direct link to Findation to get a colour match.

I just went to Boots with a bare face and a mirror, mixed some contenders on the back of my hand and applied it there and then for a colour match. I've made too many full price mistakes before.

John Lewis is good if you go on a weekday to blag a few pots of samples from nice assistants.

I got the Benefit Bad Girl Bang.... Mad name. Did I get it right? 🙈😆

Yes it was what I was looking for. Gives good length and not smudgy.

I’ve recently got this and it really it the bees knees. Amazing mascara.

I love the Jones Road Miracle balm, but not the the foundation. It is full of gritty bits, that don't mix or spread. very little coverage, just shiny and greasy. It also works like plaque-disclosing tablets, but for the face; making a bee-line for all the fine lines and wrinkles where it settles and shines accusingly. My undereyes looked like the Nile delta.

I like Revlon Superstay. No problems with application, finish or longevity.

I need to try the miracle balm again, I think I was applying too much

Lavenderandbrown · 10/04/2024 20:10

Another vote for the Armani. I have used bare minerals boots Laura mercier Peter Roth and Armani is the best…subtle luminosity blendable good shade selection and it’s buildable. I prefer very little coverage. I apply with a brush.

TheDogIsInCharge · 10/04/2024 20:10

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter, nars creamy radiant concealer with a nice non glittery cream bronzer and you’ll be glowy and gorgeous. Add some liquid blush to the apples of your cheeks if you fancy.

McConkeysPlate · 10/04/2024 19:43

I have just discovered Jones Road foundation. It’s lovely

I agree ! I have found, as I have got older, my skin has got drier. After trying Il Makiage, Charlotte Tilbury and Estée Lauder, I bought Jones Road on a bit of a whim. I love it. I have found a little goes a long way and as I don't like full coverage, this suits me.

impressivelycunty · 10/04/2024 20:15

Laura Mercier have brought out a new one - Real Flawless Foundation. I really like it. More than tinted moisturiser but not a bit cakey, light coverage in great shades and long lasting. Jones Road I found way too gritty and sticky, but am interested in the Armani offering...

YearsofYears · 10/04/2024 20:16

I'm late thirties but definitely into this kind of foundation. Recently bought Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow for my self and my mum who is early sixties and we both get in really well with it. It gives you a healthy glow, albeit not much coverage which I really like for day to day. I'll definitely be trying to he Hollywood filter one as my next purchase.
For light coverage I use no 7 serum foundation and for heavier coverage ysl touché eclat which is dewy but heavy.

Weareoutofwine · 10/04/2024 20:17

I'm early 40s and get on really well with Chanel No.1 foundation. It gives a lovely dewy look/feel on my skin. I find it works particularly well with In Transit Camera Close Up primer, and NYX dewy make up fix.

Also keen on Armani silk as mentioned by others. But I do find my skin has to be in tip top condition, otherwise it can gather and cake a little.

stayathomer · 10/04/2024 20:20

I’m 43 and got my mum (76) onto clarins bb cream (using Aimee Connolly primer under it as I do!) and she’s in awe! Adored it and has repurchased without me (ie not to make me feel like I sorted her life out😅)
edited to add there’s limited shades though so check them out first

TotallyFloored · 10/04/2024 20:27

I like the new serum ones - sculpted by Aimee, plants are purple, saie or the erborian in the silver tube (can’t remember if it’s the cc or bb one).

I was watching British Beauty Blog Jane trying the Lisa Eldridge tint this morning, and it looks very nice.

Clinique Even Better Glow is nice too.

But nothing beats Hydraluminous for me.

I've got Clinique Even Better Glow. Is No7 hydraluminous better than this?

boobot1 · 10/04/2024 20:42

No 7 hydroluminous

The Ordinary serum foundation, game changing.

I absolutely loved this but they have stopped making it

The Ordinary serum foundation, game changing.

Can you elaborate? What kind of skin does it suit and is the coverage decent?

GellerYeller · 10/04/2024 21:03

The Ordinary is definitely discontinued.I loved their coverage foundation. Found a perfect shade match at MAC since but it’s not dewy. The Ordinary was not dewy either. Following for recommendations!

lumierplate · 10/04/2024 21:17

I really like the garnier tinted SPF at the moment or the glowy foundation from BPerfect if I want a bit more coverage.

kknow · 10/04/2024 21:24

I'm 52 and have just stated using IT Cosmetics CC glow and Jones Road miracle balm. Had lots of compliments. Also Trinny London BB and de-stress cream, both give a lovely glow.

All those brands are cruelty-free too

totalnamechanger · 10/04/2024 21:26

I used to just use more expensive foundation (Chanel etc). Then I saw a Sali Hughes recommendation for No 7 Hydraluminous for a couple of years, it’s good but after a while I felt it was a bit orange on my skin?! Not sure if the open tube was changing colour or something about my skin. It wasn’t very noticeable but prompted me to try something new so recently I tried https://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/age-perfect/bb-cream-02-light-beige

I really like it- medium coverage and I think slightly glowy. My mum asked what I was wearing last time I saw her because she thought my skin looked good. It’s in Boots and possibly Superdrug. I wear make up everyday because of rosacea (and habit) so I’ve used a lot of foundation over the past few decades.

Age Perfect BB Cream 02 Light Beige | Makeup | L'Oréal Paris

Age Perfect BB Cover infused with a hydrating serum, spf 50. Corrects, cares and protects. Vitamin B3 in a light foundation covers flawlessly without settling into lines.

Sorry for the poor use of English above- I should have proof read 😁 - hopefully you get the drift

MissKittyFantastico84 · 10/04/2024 21:38

Hello!

If all you desire is a hint of a tint, a bit of evening out and a dewy glow for cheap as chips - then ELF Halo Glow Liquid Filter Complexion Booster is the holy grail product you're looking for.

It's often all I wear now as even the Erborian. CC cream feels too cakey.

Hope this helps!

WingBingo · 10/04/2024 21:40

I’ve had a good experience with Il Makiage. Never had to sign up to a subscription and it’s a very good match.
