Problem with tops, anyone else?

I am 5'4 so not tall, and have an average proportion generally. For a few years now I haven't been able to find long enough tops, especially plain tshirts with long sleeves.
I recently bought two organic cotton tshirts from Seasalt and they are 3 times wider than then they are long! They barely cover my top hip and when I sit or lean over it goes straight up my back. Surely this must be an even bigger issue for woman taller than me?

Even if i buy oversized the shape is usually square and short, online images don't help as the tops are often tucked into trousers. I get that the current silhouette is high waisted but I prefer mid rise. I can't find anything to wear with leisure stuff like leggings as nothing covers the bum. I can't wear them with trousers and they ride up my back. I just can't get my head around why I can't find a plain, good quality tee for summer that comes to the lower hip or even (gasp) covers my arse altogether.
This issue also translates to cardigans (all short and square), jumpers and other tops.

Anyone have a solution or can at least relate to this?

This is why I wear a changing selection of tunics and leggings, or sometimes dresses. Not ideal :(

iv started buying men’s T-shirts.

womens almost always
synthetic material
short sleeves that barely cover shoulders never mind the tops of my arms
length almost only as long as my waist band.

men’s almost always
cotton or at least a synthetic/non synthetic mix
sleeves that sit somewhere between mid top arm to elbow
Length normally at least to lower hip or covers pocket on bum of jeans.

mens long sleeves are the same as above normally but obviously with long sleeves.

I sympathise. They used to be so much longer. I still have some old ones from M&S that come down to cover my bum. Now they’re so short they ride up so not bought any for ages. Wonder if it’s a cost cutting move.

I've been finding the same. I'm 5 ft 4 as well and these are a good length on me. I found some good long-sleeved ones with curved hems on Uniqlo a few years back that were just the right length, but they've stopped doing them. It's an awkward height because anything that sells itself as 'longline' is always way too long for me, but so many tops now are just short and square.

I have the opposite problem of finding short tops, I'm 5ft 3 but with a long torso short legs , I don't want cropped tops, just ones that end at the top of my jeans, I have to shorten nearly all my tops / t shirts I buy.

I have the opposite problem. I'll send you the cut-offs from the bottom of my t-shirts 😁

No idea how long tops are so long that they are drowning someone of 5'4!

Sadly fatface went to hell, i bought two tees last year and the arm seams were odd. The fabric has also gone downhill at a fast rate. I used to love thier cotton tops!

I remember prior to 2016 there were tons of arse length tees and tops. I guess it's just fashion.
