Liberty Lovers: Department Store and Beauty Drop **NO SPOILERS**

Thread for people wanting to talk about the Liberty Beauty Drop with no spoilers and also Liberty Department store in general, which feels like the last large store that isn’t a middle man to random brands under one roof or website. I enjoy reading about what people hope are in the boxes and what people like, and we can also talk about planned visits to Liberty and any offers on.

I love their homeware section, photo of a display they had last week. I also like their gifts and books for children in the £20-£30 range, they’re unique and well made, especially around Christmas. I really want to visit the store.again! But I am not well enough to get up to London at the moment.

I am in love with their fabrics and buy more than I can possibly justify

Thanks for the new thread @BakeOffRewatch I live within commuting distance of London, and indeed do fairly regularly need to commute in for work, so am able to visit the store periodically.

Has anyone been to the new perfume hall yet? I’m tempted to go, but also concerned it may be quite intimidating.

I’m waiting for a bedding set to arrive tomorrow. Far too expensive but the size I wanted was never available then suddenly it was plus the sale plus a Quidco Liberty £30 cashback boost and it was in my basket… keep telling myself I can always send it back if it isn’t perfect…

Thanks , yes am hoping I get better soon, in the meantime sewing with liberty fabric is helping me feel more at peace about resting. It's just all so beautiful! (My sewing isn't but the beautiful fabrics disguise that !)

I'm not very good .

I can make little things like purses /pencil cases /scrunchies/eye masks and I am trying (rather incompetently) to learn English paper peicing to make a quilt. I have to spend a lot of time propped up in bed/on the sofa so trying to find things I can do while stuck there!

Which bedding set did you go for @MintyFurball ? I really like a lot of the Coco and Wolf ones in Liberty print.

Back in 2020, Mamas and Papas had a Liberty print Ocarro pushchair, I’ve never been able to find one on gumtree or Facebook marketplace! I was very sensible at the time and got a whole Ocarro set second hand for £200. Which is still going.

I might pop into Liberty again to pick up the set in person tonight, any photo requests let me know.

I love these Edelweiss platters. I have a whole vision of a lovely dining room with a huge Welsh dresser adorned with gorgeous plates like this. One day! I got some bowls and dip sets from Oliver Bonas sale last year so I am going that way..

From what I can tell, spend on the new kit doesn’t qualify for the GWP. If you’re logged in and add £125 of other beauty items, then the GWP does appear.

I love the Liberty Betsy print, Trotters did swimsuits in them and they do canvas shoes, matching for kids and grown ups. Lucky MIL @MintyFurball !

@TheExclusiveSandwich yes you get a box of sample for being a Beauty Drop member which people are expecting on the 16th April, spoilers of what’s in it is in the spoiler thread. Then @BlueLimeRun kindly shared a kit that was released today, separate to BD box.

@SpaghettiWithaYeti i love that you’re making things with the Liberty fabrics! I love the fabrics but it’s so expensive I’d worry about messing it up. I love the Garden of Adonis fabric, I wouldn’t wear a mini dress, and at £65 per metre I’d be too scared to attempt even a simple midi dress. Fabric Godmother has the fabric for sale it’s not stocked by Liberty anymore was their AW23 stock.

@BakeOffRewatch I think it wasn’t adding automatically earlier. If you have £125 of beauty products in your basket it is now adding the gift with purchase. It looks ok, but not as good as some have been. Worth it if you r a few things to buy though.

Sorry forgot to say the platters look lovely.
I think I’ll try to plan a visit in June.

The platters are gorgeous.

I have a basket full of things that I don’t need (bikini, candle and perfume) and two hundred pounds of vouchers but it’s in store coin vouchers which were a gift and I don’t know when I’ll next be there so think that I’ll miss the GWP sadly. Tbh it’s mainly the wash bag that I want!
