Is this dress too tight ?

I'm going on holiday soon and had no clothes for sunshine holidays
I've bought this dress but not sure if it's too tight
I wouldn't wear it in the uk as I would feel too self conscious
Does it look okay ?
I'm nearly 40 and not sure if it's too young as it's from Zara

Is this dress too tight ?

I honestly think it looks fab. The colour is gorgeous and your figure is flawless. If I saw you I wouldn’t be thinking “ooh that’s a bit tight” I’d be thinking “can I swap bodies please”

Happyhappyeveryday · 08/04/2024 16:59

You look great in it. Enjoy your holiday.

HeddaGarbled · 08/04/2024 17:01

How does it look when you’re sitting down?

IceIceBabyBump · 08/04/2024 17:02

Waaaaaay too tight. JFC.

You have an okay figure but its ruined in this dress because its too clingy. You need absolute washboard abs to wear a dress that clingy.

You'd look great in the same dress but a size up so its still tight but less clingy.

GrocerDoctor · 08/04/2024 17:04

I think you look stunning in it - but due to the colour and clinginess I would worry about sweat showing.

ohbabyilovetheway · 08/04/2024 17:06

I am hoping to loose some weight before I go on holiday

The next size up had really baggy armpits and too much excess material
I did try both on

Don’t agree at all with those saying too tight, it’s quite clearly a tight fit style of dress.
I think if it was baggy it wouldn’t look as good.

I think it looks lovely.

SuncreamAndIceCream · 08/04/2024 17:20

I think a looser dress would be better for a holiday especially if you're going somewhere warm.

I would be really paranoid about sweat patches showing up.

Puravida23 · 08/04/2024 17:28

You’ve got a great figure and the dress is lovely but I think it will be too tight and uncomfortable for a hot country . You are better getting something looser that your body can breathe in which could also double up for potential wear during the day and could potentially wear in the Uk. I think this dress is too limiting and you just won’t get the wear out of it

Devonisheaven · 08/04/2024 17:33

If it’s for evening wear it’s fine, for wandering about in the day it looks too tight and uncomfortable and not remotely cool.

Icehockeyflowers · 08/04/2024 17:45

It is too tight.

You have a lovely figure. Can you buy the size up and have the armholes altered? You can see where your bellybutton is because the material is so stretched.

ETA I just realised it might be a bodycon and maybe that’s the style it is supposed to be?

skippy67 · 08/04/2024 17:45

Yes, it's too tight.

JollyJanuary · 08/04/2024 17:47

I think you look great. Is it comfortable? Can you move around, sit fine, are you tugging at it?

Hattie1970abc · 08/04/2024 17:51

I think you have a fab figure and why not show it off? It’s not too tight! Go for it 😁

loulou2021 · 08/04/2024 17:52

It looks great! As long as it is comfortable, it's definitely not too tight!

Katrinawaves · 08/04/2024 17:55

It’s a beautiful colour and very flattering when you are standing up nice and straight posing for a photo. Are you able to check how it looks if you are sitting down, maybe standing more at ease, leaning over a table, etc. I wonder whether it might look a bit unflattering in other positions because it is so uncompromising?

FusionChefGeoff · 08/04/2024 17:55

I'd get sooo hot in that!!

MorgansNewHairCut · 08/04/2024 17:57

It’s maybe a tiny bit too tight, but if you’re comfortable in it, it’s fine.

I think you could find nicer dresses though.

Sagittarius · 08/04/2024 17:59

Does nobody here understand the concept of a fitted dress? It looks great on you OP, this style of dress is meant to be fitted to the body as it is a bodycon dress !

I can't tell the material from the photos, but if it is a stretchy material that feels comfy when sitting down then I'd say this is the right size for you.

Moonshine5 · 08/04/2024 18:00

It does look too tight however it doesn't look bad IYSWIM plenty of people would wear it.
The main thing is you feel good / confident and because you're asking MN suggests you might not. Also if you're going somewhere very hot it will get more clingy.
If you don't like the next size up check other stores or online you will find something very similar.
Have a great holiday.

Princesspollyyy · 08/04/2024 18:01

Too tight sorry. Not a good look.

merrymelodies · 08/04/2024 18:03

I think it looks fantastic. You've got a lovely figure.

MsFaversham · 08/04/2024 18:04

Princesspollyyy · 08/04/2024 18:01

Too tight sorry. Not a good look.

I agree and it doesn’t flatter your figure. Sorry.

StasisMom · 08/04/2024 18:07

I'd size up but only if you can get one, it looks fab and there's no age limit for Zara!
