home eyebrow tinting

Does anyone tint their brows at home and if so what do you use and how easy is it? I don't want to mess up and tint my forehead haha. If it makes a difference I used to get them tinted at my regular waxing app but a few factors making that trickier now so tempted to just do them myself if it is easy enough :)

I use Eylure dybrow and manage not to dye my forehead 😀.

evilharpy · 08/04/2024 10:51

I use Refectocil for brows and lashes (I buy it in Salon Services, not sure if it requires a trade card but I I used to use Eyelure which did the same job). It's dead easy, to the point I would begrudge paying for someone else to do it.

BarrelOfOtters · 08/04/2024 10:51

Just following, I bought some dye at the weekend....

Turkeyhen · 08/04/2024 10:52

I use the Schwarzkopf kit - so easy!

Ellovera2 · 08/04/2024 10:55

I use the just for men beard and moustache dye! Lasts loads of uses and works a treat. Cheap too.

ScubaDivingSpiderMonkey · 08/04/2024 11:00

Yes it's a cinch. Not something I'd bother going to a salon for.

I use Refectocil in shade 3.1 which gives me a mid toned (non gingery) brown. Mix it up, add to eyebrows, wipe off after 5 mins. Done.

Eyelashes are much faffier and I prefer to get them done at a salon.

PeanutsLunadexter · 08/04/2024 11:02

I also use just for men beard dye, go on YouTube and follow instructions, like Ellovera2 easy, cheap and lasts for ages.

Lovelydovey · 08/04/2024 11:09

Another vote for Refectocil, it takes 10 mins and makes me look so much younger.

Oh lovely thanks so much for all your recommendations. I am going shopping after work so will nip into Superdrug. This may be a stupid question but do you just paint it into the hairs ie following the eyebrow shape? You don't go onto the skin at all?

yes, avoid the skin and just paint it onto your actual eyebrow hairs. some people use Vaseline as a barrier cream around the brows to avoid any staining of the skin. I don't bother with this because even if some dye does stray onto some skin and leave a mark it disappears within 24 hrs.

LilacpointMummy · 08/04/2024 11:36

I use a cotton bud to put Vaseline all round the outside of my eyebrows first, because I'm quite cackhanded. Then if any goes on the skin it just wipes off.

sweetpickle2 · 08/04/2024 11:37

I use the just for men beard dye- I have a thin eyeliner brush which I used to apply, and as above I put vaseline around with a cotton bud first.

Isabelle70 · 08/04/2024 18:35

I use the Refectocil in 3.1 a light brown and I have dark blonde hair. I have a small brush that I paint it on with, cotton bud to clean away any stray tint and 10 mins of so later nicely tinted brows. I get the Refectocil and developer from Amazon and it lasts for ages.

lifebeginz · 09/04/2024 14:18

Thank you so much for all your replies! i done it last night! i was cautious because my hair is so light so didn't leave on for the full 10 minutes (I done 6) and it worked well but not quite dark enough. now that I feel confident in what I am doing, next time I will leave on for the full 10 minutes and I think it will be perfect!! Thank you so much everyone :)

I do it at home and find it is sometimes too dark at first. It usually fades within a few days.

Butfirstcoffee3 · 09/04/2024 14:34

I do mine at home, but will do them a second time if I don’t feel that they’re dark enough, this seems to last longer too. By doing it in 2 sittings there’s no danger of leaving it on too long and haven’t really dark brows! I find it lasts longer this way too. I do tint the skin, just in the shape I would pencil them in. It doesn’t take heavily but helps with shape.
