Wide fit white trainers

I have a window of about an hour next week when I'll be in London and able to go shopping. My mission is to get some white trainers. I can only ever wear wide fit shoes so was hoping for some tips on which brands are wider fitting, particularly across the bit of the foot where your toes meet the foot (does that bit have a name?). I have had some patterned SuperGa in the past but am hoping for something with a bit more bounce and support than those.
Thanks!

Bumping for you as I'm after the same.

Bumping just posting similar but for a sandal. But needing new smart trainers too. New Look have a lot of wide fit choice not looked recently for trainers

Skechers have white, wide fit trainers, really comfortable!

I have wide feet and find Hoff trainers really comfy. I go for the neutral ones but not sure they do plain white.

For fashion trainers, I always go to Next. I've got several pairs of really nice leather ones that are very comfortable.

I’ve got fat feet and my white platform converse fit really well.

Have you tried Fitflop Rally?

GettingStuffed · 05/04/2024 18:35

I second Skechers but I need to go down a size in them I've recently bought some slazenger trainers in an emergency and they're a great fit but makes my feet look normal. I wouldn't get white fabric ones as they get filthy

alphabettispagetti · 05/04/2024 19:02

I'm already a fan of Skechers and FitFlop and just about everything else I own is Next wide fit!
I was thinking more about the brands - are Veja or Nike or Adidas or anything wider than the others? I've only ever worn ASICS for running.

I have men's adidas stan smiths and they fit my wide feet well.

I don't know if they do white, or if they're fashionable, but New Balance come in wide and extra wide fittings (only shoes my youngest has ever put on and not immediately complained were pinching his little toes)

Birkenstock Bend Low, white leather

melissasummerfield · 05/04/2024 19:15

Puma and superga are great for wide feet imo

Rollercoaster1920 · 05/04/2024 19:20

Altra might be worth trying on. Not casual trainers but wide toe box.

I love new balance and I've got wide feet! If you pop into the store they're really helpful at helping you find the right fitting ones. The 530 and 9060 are my current faves.

Try Mens for the width like a PP said. There’s no legal definition of wide fit in shoes so you have to go by fit.

Try to avoid sketchers, they allow too much movement of the foots bones during gait, the bones are attached to the soft tissues and this excessive movement can cause pain.

Running trainers are best for walking, firm supportive sole, stiff heel counter, thick padding inside for comfort and a lace to hold the foot in place. You might need to size up by half a size but running trainers generally use half sizes.

If I had a pound for every new patient who has foot pain and wears sketchers because “Their the best shoes for your feet” I’d be very rich. You might as well wear your slippers all day for the support they don’t offer. I have a grudging respect for the marketing department though because you can’t say they aren’t maximising shareholder value.

Veja is massively wide! I tried some on last year it knowing (and have v. slim feet) so back they went.
