So I've been in a bit of a rut lately. Pandemic sort of ravaged my life in that it left me with a debilitating chronic illness which has impacted everything from finances, work, mental health, relationships. I'm currently 33 and single and work from home all th etime, but even though I'm indoors a lot, I've decided I want to stop looking like crap. Problem is, I don't have much money to spend on clothes/style. I get most of my stuff from Uniqlo or next, but honestly just feel like the quality, especially Uniqlo, is terrible and clothes lost their spark after a few washes.
Anyone got any recommendations for better quality clothing, that lasts, looks good, but is still affordable and will just help me feel mentally better and more 'put together'? I generally always have to shop in the petite range of high street shops as I'm so short, but welcome any suggestions tbh.
More generally, I've also just struggled to know what I look good in. I'm about 5'1, petite, body shape is either inverted triangle or rectangle? I can't wear skinny jeans as they make my legs look chunky, so I tend to wear wide leg trousers, but never know what shoes to wear with them! I prefer shoes with a slight heel to trainers, to give myself height, but in the winter this leaves me out of options.
So calling on all Mumsnetters to help!
I also have dark skin (South Asian) in case that's relevant to any style/colours etc
