First time for fillers - any tips?

I’ve got an appointment for cheek and chin filler in about 2 weeks time. Is there anything I should do to prepare? I currently use Skin + Me tretinoin plus an AHA and forgot to ask the doctor if I should stop that for a bit in advance. But I assume she would’ve told me if I had to.

I also tend to bruise easily - is there any way to minimise this? Arnica etc?

I had 1ml cheek and chin filler a few months ago. I avoided any alcohol for a week and didn't use retinol for a few days before or afterwards.

I didn't bruise at all and I usually bruise easily so hopefully you'll be ok too. It was slightly swollen around the injection points for 24 hours afterwards but not so much that anyone noticed (I haven't mentioned it to anyone else outside my immediate family)

Good luck and hope you'll be as happy with your results as I am with mine ☺️

I had a big wad of lip filler and it really hurts. You need to know that. But I didn’t bruise at all. Also you look bloody nuts for the first 24 to 48 hours… Enormous and in the mornings theyre enormous as well, but it all settles down.

Here’s a pic of me top before underneath

I don’t remember avoiding anything really

thanks both.

@itsnothingoriginal how painful was chin and cheek for you?

@RadPhyz not at all painful. They use a light numbing cream and so all I could feel was the sensation of the filler going in - a bit weird but absolutely no pain before or after!

I got bruise after chin filler and chin is very hard. How much time it will take to go bruise away? And chin to appear normal

RadPhyz · 10/06/2024 05:17

My chin appeared normal right away though it felt hard at first. I had a bruise for about 2 weeks after and it felt a bit tender for about 3. The doctor said that’s common for the chin. It’s now been 6 weeks and it’s all fine.

Arnica tablets might help 2 weeks before and after, no alcohol and no aspirin as you’ll bleed more.
