Saltworks perfumes

I never usually wear perfume but would like to start. I have no idea which types of fragrances I like or how to go about finding out, other than going to Boots and spraying samples. I think that I will then not really get the true scent of each perfume as they will mingle. I have previously found that some perfumes give me headaches but maybe this is because they have always been really cheap ones from Avon or somewhere similar? Will buying a better quality help this?

The Saltworks discovery set has popped up on my Facebook feed and looks ideal for me to try. Does anyone have any reviews, feedback or opinions about the products? Do the fragrances last well on the skin?

I really am clueless about perfume. I've just turned 50 and would like a grown up, signature scent like other women I know that always smell lovely! If anyone compliments me on how I smell, it's always the scent boosters from the laundry, not a delightful perfume!

Please help!

I can’t really help too much but I have just had a sample of one of the Saltworks perfumes. For me it was a bit heavy, but I did only try the one. However, I will say that it lasted a lot longer than other perfumes. So the discovery box might be good for you to try and see what you think.

as an aside, if you’re near a next their perfumes are nice, they are usually similar/copies of more expensive brands but you’d have to have a google to see which ones.

Thanks for replying. I am near a big Next shop so might go there.

I recently got it. I love most of the scents. I've not stopped raving over them!)

If you add it to your basket and wait, you should get a £5 off voucher (or I might have a refer a friend voucher if you wanted).

With the discovery set you also get a £25 off voucher. I just bought a full size of Tabac Soleil for £70 instead of £95. There was also a travel size bottle thrown in for free.

Thanks! But I was too impatient. I've already ordered the discovery set.

I've got the Discovery box. Really like them, bit different. However, they don't have much longevity on me.

Let me know which is your favourite. I'm not a massive fan of the Oud ones.

I certainly will. I've no idea at all what I like on me! I'm excited to discover.

Their marketing in so cringeworthy, the ads also includes models spraying and then rubbing their wrists like if heir lives dependended on it (a big no and anyone who knows about perfume should know not to do it), and quite frankly I think their claims (like they were the only long lasting thing on the market- they are not, and if they are, why do the models insist you can take a sample with you to top up?).
Many of them are scents that are similar to other scents, and you can probably buy dupes cheaper. One of the more recent ones is a dupe for BR540.
That being said, they are overal nice and not too badly. The Marmelade one is quite a fun, citrus one for summer.

@FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee I absolutely love oud bazaar and tabac soleil! There are some other gorgeous ones too, like the l' orangerie, but they don't last as long as the oud bazaar and tabac soleil. I'll try both for a few more days and then decide. I've loved being able to try all the different events at my leisure though. There's only one that I really didn't like - midnight orchid- it just smelt like cat pee to me!

Try Midnight Orchid again as I'm sure it was that one that I thought smelt like cat pee but I don't anymore.

I caved and bought the tabac soleil after getting the sample box. They don't last forever on me but I love the scent and it lingers on whatever I'm wearing!

Caaarrrl · 20/04/2024 14:36

The oud bazaar did last a long time. I put it on at about 6.30 when getting ready for work and it was still there at 6pm when I was home. Very happy with that. Tabac soleil didn't last quite as long.

I'm asking for a refund as they don't last AT ALL. So disappointed and annoying I bought another set for a friend who also found the same, by the afternoon you'd not know we were wearing perfume.
