Is this foundation good? I am wanting a glowy foundation with a bit of cover, more than a tinted moisturiser but not too heavy.

I went into Boots the other day to ask and the assistant wasn't very helpful. She didn't even test my skin and just suggested a tinted moisturiser in a light colour.

I love it, but I'd say it's a medium coverage.

BrassOlive · 03/04/2024 22:35

I think it's overrated and a bit thick by modern standards. Bourjois Healthy Mix gives a similar level of coverage/ finish but is a bit silkier in my view.

I agree it's over rated. I tried it as an alternative to double wear nude/fresh and wasn't impressed. Settled on Armani luscious silk instead which is great

Yes I’ve just started using it after using Trinny London and Erborian and I really like it. It doesn’t cake, lasts well and is moisturising but has decent coverage but isn’t heavy. Someone told me that I had lovely skin the first time that I wore it 😂

ChangeOfHearts · 03/04/2024 22:40

I didn’t like it as it sat on my skin and highlighted pores and fine lines , I had similar issues with the Bareminerals tinted gel cream too they just didn’t work for me . I couldn’t get a shade in the no7 one that was right they all made me look slightly unwell ! I was really disappointed

i love it and buy on repeat, used to use Armani luminous silk but couldn’t justify the price anymore. Shades are good for me - I need a cooler > neutral lighter base which I often find oxidises in other brands (ELDW perfect example) Cool Vanilla is perfect for me.

UpsideLeft · 04/04/2024 01:01

I really like it and it works well for me

VanillaImpulse · 04/04/2024 01:07

I got an empty pot and squirted some of the tester in to try it (impossible to get any assistant help). So glad I did as I thought it was shit. Slides off the face and I don't have oily skin. Had read good things before but glad I tried before I bought!!

suki1964 · 04/04/2024 01:58

I like it - but I don't really have loads of experience of different foundations. I tried it after finding my old favourite Double Wear, was ageing me

I liked that is gives good coverage yet doesn't look or feel heavy and it lasted me in work running around a hot restaurant

BusterGonad · 04/04/2024 11:40

The lift and luminate one is nice.

HollyGolightly4 · 04/04/2024 11:44

I really like it. My skin is dry though, and I think it works well with that. It's not light, but it lasts and it doesn't turn chalky.

Thank you for your replies.

Can anyone recommend another No7 foundation if the hydroluminous is a bit cakey? I don't seem to get any proper help when I go to the N07 counter these days.

The lift and luminate one. Not so creamy which you may prefer.

UpsideLeft · 04/04/2024 13:59

It's definitely not cakey

I also like using the No 7 Stay Perfect foundation

The Hydraluminous one is more sheer so I switch between the 2 depending on how I feel

Rimmel Kind And Free is much superior to it. Good build up coverage and a lovely glow
