Trying to find a new pair after the death of my pink gladiator kangols (rip).... What do you think? www.johnlewis.com/dune-laters-leather-memory-foam-flatform-sandals/blush/p111598234?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&s_share=jlcom_droid_all

I had a very similar pair of sandals with that sole, very comfortable but the heel elastic was so strong it pushed the toes over the front of the shoe.
I went to find the same style and sole from Moda in Pelle with a buckle back strap.

Stormbornform · 02/04/2024 22:12

Ah hadn't thought of that. Digging elastic aside you like the style though?

@Stormbornform I found them really comfy and good to have a bit of extra height.
I have these ones

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/moda-in-pelle-netty-padded-leather-flatform-sandals/p111605166?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

I wouldn't walk for miles in them but for general day to day they are perfect.

Air and grace sandals are amazing. I have just bought a pair and the leather is so soft

Nonbio46 · 03/04/2024 10:20

I have a few pairs of Saltwater sandals, the ones with the thicker soles. They’re so, so comfortable and ( in my opinion) stylish. Happy shopping. 😊

MontagueLeo · 03/04/2024 10:43

I spent a lot of money on a similar pair of Dune sandals and was disappointed when they fell apart fairly quickly

Mumofoneandone · 03/04/2024 15:41

I'm a massive Birkenstock fan - live in them, walk for miles and they last years.....

Gettingonmygoat · 03/04/2024 16:02

Try fitflops, so comfortable, you can walk for miles in them and they last years.

I came to say this

MarygoldRose · 03/04/2024 19:29

Sandals and stylish do not belong in the same sentence. Comfy - yes, by all means.

There used to be historic thread on this every year on Mumsnet Swears By, I saved them or I did, because most brands are still trading. Here's the 2024 sandals Swears By though.

Teva was one brand.

Teva are my all time favourite. I have a black pair and I've walked miles in them for the last 2 summers and they are still in pretty perfect condition.

Fitflop are the only sandals I can wear walking for miles on holiday and they're comfy- these are nice https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/gracie-leather-back-strap-sandals-p-EB1#592

I have just sent for a pair of these.

PilgorTheGoat · 04/04/2024 10:01

I have those fitflop Gracie sandals. I wore them all last summer and they’re so comfortable

emsyj37 · 04/04/2024 16:24

I also have the Saltwater 'Boardwalk' style sandals with the thicker sole and they are like slippers and still look new after pretty much daily wear all last summer.

WombatChocolate · 04/04/2024 17:03

Saltwaters for me too. I have the classic very flat sole for short walks (and which I think look more stylish) plus the boardwalk with thicker sole for long walks.

Last year I only wore Saltwaters from May to October. Included some full days of walking around European city plus also country walks of several miles.

Would mention they are still very flat with no arch support, which doesn’t work for everyone.

MarkWithaC · 04/04/2024 19:01

The combo of the colour and style makes them look a bit orthopaedic IMO, sorry, OP.
Try Clarks, Hush Puppies, Ecco, Camper; I find them reliable for sandals that are comfortable but stylish (in a 'fugly' kind of way!)

EleanorMc67 · 04/04/2024 20:04

Over the last few years Whistles has had several variations on "flatform" styles that look good & are extremely comfy. The best thing about them is that they have Velcro strap fastenings, so they're completely adjustable for narrow/wide feet. They're expensive, but I've found all (five pairs!) of mine (black, navy, cream, gold & pewter) on eBay at really good prices.

I live in birkenstocks in the summer really. But I have spotted some in Penelope Chilvers that I quite like this year Penelope Chilvers

I can't really wear dead flat sandals though, so the heel appeals to me.

I have just sent for a pair of these.

I saw Fitflops the other day in a department store but they didn’t have any the widest range of theirs which was a shame.

Sandgroper · 07/04/2024 12:24

i have an ancient pair of Hobbs tan leather flat sandals that I keep getting re heeled that are so comfy, especially for walking on those cobblestones in European cities in the summer.

Have had my eye on those silver fitflop sandals sweetpickle2. Are they true to size? I am between at 4.5 and a 5.
