Hairdressers and others who are good at hair - which straighteners?

Hi S&B mumsnetters.

My trusty GHD straighteners which I have had for probably 9/10 years are on the blink. Before these I had another pair of GHDs for probably 10 years prior. I'm looking at options and can't decide what to go for next?

I've got pretty curly, thick, unruly hair which has been getting wilder however thinking about it now actually my straighteners have not been as hot for a good while hence the frizz. Although I don't straighten every day, and often just do a quick dry and hair up for work I feel I need a decent pair for styling.

What do people in the know recommend on the straightener scene these days?

I can't see past my cloud nine wide plate ones. I converted from ghd and they're far superior.
I have reasonably thick curly/frizzy hair, shoulder length hair and these make it poker straight and it lasts a couple of days. Adjustable temperature is great for the weaker hair round the front of my face. I love them

Another vote for Cloud 9 here, they’re much better than GHDs.

I switched to cloud 9 too, my GHD’s used to catch the odd hair, these are super fast and smooth.

I have very long thick hair and the L’Oreal Steampod is amazing. My GHD would take ages and never be perfectly straight, but I can go my whole head in 10 minutes with the Steampod.
