I'm in the long process of going icy platinum blonde. I have attached a picture of the stage I'm at now. Hair is in good condition and coloured every 2-3 months with a shadow root.

Every 10-14 days I use the Schwarzkopf Chroma colour ID mask in 9.5-1 and that gives a nice tone which maintains the colour in between salon trips.

My question is - what are your honest thoughts on the Provoke purple shampoo and their intensive conditioner? I was going to use the shampoo a couple of times a week, and their conditioner daily. They claim to be colour experts, but just want to see the general consensus on them please :)

Hair is super fine and is greasy the day after washing, but I tend to use dry shampoo on day 2.

Provoke is pretty useless. Stronger ones are Fudge and Fanola. Bleach London Pearlescense is nice too. You need to be careful though. They can very quickly grip on to very light blonde and create a lilac cast. They're also very drying. Current colour on the pic you've attached is lovely.

I've brought this on holiday. I picked it up from my dad's after my mum passed away last year (sorry if TMI). It's not a brand I would have chosen but her hair always looked lovely, natural grey, lots of life, she loved her hair. And handbags.

I prefer Redken if I'm honest, I don't know why, I just do, but Provoke fine.

Your hair looks lovely BTW. I'm going back to full on blonde after a few months as a mid brunette and that is the colour I'm aiming for - again.

I didn't like it. It's cheap and cheerful but you can get a much better one for an extra fiver.

Wasn’t impressed. It dried my hair. The sulphate perhaps?

I use a kerastase daily one and it makes a difference - it stops mine going brassy yellow
