Has anyone tried dyeing metallic leather? I have bought some shoes which have a metallic area of leather which I am trying to dye (I've dyed leather and suede successfully in the past). It seems to have soaked in the dye but the metallic finish is still pretty obvious.
I wonder if I should have sanded the leather down, or used some sort of product that will remove the metallic finish?
If anyone has any experience with this I'd be interested to hear.
