Is leopard a micro trend or will it be more this spring/summer

A bit like red was in winter? I already had a few red knits so didn’t buy anything new for a short lived micro trend. Which is good because I’m buying less ‘stuff’.

I have some leopard print clothes stored away but not sure if the new leopard trend is just going to be a flash in the pan (for now - I’m sure it’ll be back full throttle at some point down the line) or will it be worthwhile investing in some Damson Madder or Ganni trousers that I like the look of now? Fully appreciate they may not be everyone’s cup of tea!

I don't know but I love them. I saw a woman wearing them in real life at the weekend and she looked great!

Springysusan · 29/03/2024 07:20

I'm very much a leopard print is a neutral/always in fashion person, but have noticed a lot more of it around lately. Not sure whether this recent trend will be a longer lasting one or a micro trend, but those trousers are Lovely!

Leopard is eternal isn’t it?

D20 · 29/03/2024 09:45

I’d say a mainstay rather than eternal. I can’t remember the last time I wore it personally. Pre covid maybe? It just hasn’t felt quite right and/or the styles haven’t.

I think I’m going to dig out my leopard pleated skirt and give that a whirl with T-shirts and sandals this weekend. It was previously a work skirt with fine knit jumpers and heels.

@HappierTimesAhead I’d love to see more people wearing it but then it might begin to feel a bit ubiquitous 😜

There was a woman in town this week in head to toe leopard print - skirt, top, shoes and scrunchie! Looked a bit bonkers although not in a bad way, but proved it is not always neutral 😂 Regardless, the trousers are lovely

Double leopard (or more!) is as tricky to pull off as double denim. I do have a velvet leopard scrunchie though.

Shoes are a good shout for a small shot of leopard. I know I’ve hummed and hawed over some Superga in the past.

I’ve worn leopard in the past a couple of times and been tempted by it but it always goes away.

I’ve had leopard Superga too.

Zebra is more me.

D20 · 29/03/2024 09:55

Ah now, I have a great zebra dress (in blue) that I do wear regularly. It’s in between geometric and zebra so can straddle a few trends.

If Leopard is becoming a trend I'll need to stash away all my leopard outfits for the summer so I don't look like everyone else. 😁

ProseccoandPizza · 29/03/2024 12:05

Leopard is a forever neutral. I shocked myself with how much I love my Barbour leopard long coat however.

Rina66 · 29/03/2024 23:10

Love the trousers and particularly the white blouse, I've just bought one virtually identical for £28! I didn't realise it was designer inspired.
