Just sharing this for everyone whose skinny jeans will be prised from their cold, dead hands - Vogue is on your side.

The Skinny Jean Is Back!

Get the skinny on autumn/winter 2024’s most feared denim trend revival.

I honestly don't know what to make of this! Sure, skinny jeans are now a classic style, however, I've now gotten to the wider leg. Didn't see this coming!

Gervhill · 25/03/2024 11:50

Thank god! They’re the only style that reliably suits me and I’ve had a terrible time trying to find anything that fits my weird proportions 😂

Sourisblanche · 25/03/2024 11:52

I never stopped wearing mine! Smile

Angelof29th · 25/03/2024 11:53

Best news I’ve heard all day, I also love the sound of the revival of indi sleaze and ‘unfathomable amounts of eyeliner’ in so far out I’m nearly back in!

See. They have been out of fashion for so long that they have done a complete cycle and are back

Floisme · 25/03/2024 12:30

Speaking strictly for me, I'm still pretty bored with them? but seeing them teamed with a furry egg cup top might be just the reset I need, so thanks op.

suki1964 · 25/03/2024 14:05

Never stopped wearing them. When did they go out of fashion?????

PinotNoir1 · 25/03/2024 15:32

A/W 24? Is that not like when people post in the Christmas board and get "It's March" 😆

I am pleased though. I've been loving wide legged but have still been wearing skinnies as well.

This made me laugh as I genuinely didn't even notice the egg cup top 😂

pinkwaterbottle9 · 05/04/2024 19:45

I've never stopped wearing them. The baggy ones don't suit me. I don't really care what's in though so hence I shall carry on wearing mine come what may. Although, I def can't gain any weight with my current ones 🤣

Sunquest · 05/04/2024 19:47

I look ridiculous in wide leg jeans. So I'll stick with my skinnies.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 06/04/2024 07:40

I never stopped either.

When baggy jeans came back dh asked me why all the young girls were dressed like it’s the 1990’s again.

It didn’t look great first time round.

YouJustDoYou · 06/04/2024 07:41

I'm too fat for skinnies, envy you!

PuppyMonkey · 06/04/2024 07:53

That was quick - I never did get round to chucking all my old skinny jeans out. Grin

Don't know about anyone else, but where I live, if ever I went looking around shops like River Island, H&M, Primark etc, there were rails and rails of skinny jeans even when skinny jeans were apparently not in at all.

MurielThrockmorton · 06/04/2024 08:36

The charity and vintage shops are absolutely chock full of skinny jeans for anybody who did throw them out!

I love wide legs though, hope they don't go out of fashion soon.

MariaVT65 · 06/04/2024 08:39

Well i’m living in leggings right now thanks to my stupid postpartum body, but i also only ever buy skinny jeans. At 5ft, they are useful by not dragging on the floor like bootcut or straight used to.

Justleaveitblankthen · 06/04/2024 08:39

I live in jeans. All styles: Skinny, high waist & boot leg cut included 😂
If it's winter, I wear warm, darker ones, in summer paler blue.
I don't give a flying fuck what Vogue or anyone else says. 😛
The joy of being middle aged..

PrimalLass · 06/04/2024 08:41

Good. I just need to lose a stone so mine fit again!

SecondHandFurniture · 06/04/2024 08:45

Don't know how I feel about this. I wore black skinnies this week to be fair but I'm only a year into embracing wide and barrel leg!

Afraidofthedarke · 06/04/2024 08:50

Ha I only bought my flared jeans and leggings about 3 months ago 😆 maybe I was out of touch longer than I thought!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 06/04/2024 08:55

I love love love skinny jeans. Sometimes wear others but these are the main ones which suit me best.

To be fair I did like my baggy Pepe jeans back when I was 14 and probably barely 6/6.5 stone! The ones with the key ring attached. Until I moved onto Levi’s 501s (because of Nick Kamen and the other iconic Levi’s ads of course!).

GoodnightAdeline · 06/04/2024 08:58

I wouldn’t say those jeans in the article are skinny, they’re straight.

pepperaunt · 06/04/2024 15:14

@GoodnightAdeline that’s what I was thinking! It’s probably a good thing they’re a tiny bit looser this time as the menopause has hit since the last time they were in…

LlynTegid · 06/04/2024 15:24

Just be yourself and whatever you choose. Remember fashion is a way to try to persuade you to spend more money, and fast fashion one of the biggest causes of climate change.

Every time I see jeans or trousers where the bottom has been cut off because three inches short was a fashion about five years ago, I think how sad the wearer is to be so beholden to a particular fashion.
