Half size work shoes - help!

I have been working from home for several years but new job will be office based and my usual trainers and walking shoes will not cut it! I have awkward sized feet and a dodgy ankle. I need a smart, comfortable, sturdy pair of shoes in a 7.5 (skinny feet so can’t do wide fit). In between jobs so money is tight, would rather not spend more than £50.
I have a nice pair of boots, it’s flat shoes I’m looking for. Cannot find anywhere that does nice shoes in half sizes other than Clark’s which is over budget.
Can anyone help please?

M&S for budget and half sizes

OhItsOnlyCynthia · 22/03/2024 18:01

Yy to M&S. I'm 4.5, I've had several pairs of decent shoes from them including work shoes.

Thank you! Will have a look at m&s x

There are quite a few on Vinted (but new) which might work. Some examples:

Clarks Griffin Lane black leather shoes | Vinted

Audley leather Brogue shoes in two-tone Olive. Size 41 | Vinted

Mint Velvet patent leather pumps BNWT | Vinted

@Binfire they look super comfy, I live in a pair like this at home but a bit too casual for this role. Thank you though x

@HolidayAtNight ooh thank you! I love Vinted but had ruled it out for shoes (partly due to a post on another board about foul feet)! Didn’t think to search for new 🤦‍♀️ x

And at least with shoes you can tell if they've been worn! I've had some great bargains (and sold some shoes that I bought in the distant past and never got around to actually wearing!).

I was going to say m&s too, have had several pairs over the year, lots of choice, leather and all long-lasting.

The ones linked to all look new but one pair was uploaded 4 months ago.

It's perfectly possible to buy shoes online which fit. If they don't a retailer will refund them but Vinted won't. You're taking a bit of a chance spending £30- £45 on a size which might be difficult to resell if it doesn't fit. The Audley pair are very nice, but they're the ones which have been hanging around for 4 months.

Next also do half sizes in their work shoe collection

In my experience 4 months is fine for Vinted. I only usually ask if the item is still available at 8 months+.

The point I was making is the OP said money is tight. If shoes from Vinted aren't suitable she'll be down £30- £45 until she can resell them, if she can re-sell them. And will still have to buy shoes.
